Christine,

I so enjoy reading your diary, it is living proof that you reap the full rewards of your sterling efforts, recently you talked of stepping back from your diary, from a selfish point of view I am so glad you give it so much effort, it is truly inspiring.

For that comes a choice each day to continue to better your life by just for today No Bet today.

A choice I hope with the dawn of each day is easier to make and more forefilling.

Keep making the choice, keep doing yourself proud.

Duncs stepping forward never back.

So pay day tomorrow and now I look forward to it as opposed to dread the fact I will have money and might gamble.

I remember the nights like tonight I would sit up till 1am in the morning waiting for my wages to hit my bank account so i could gamble, I would gamble all night or into the early hours of the morning and be no use to noone the next day and full of hatred for myself for what i had done.

Those days are no more I now appreciate how hard I work for my money and wont be wasting 1 penny on gambling today or tomorrow.

Im off to london this weekend will be at twickenham on saturday watching the rugby and watching the hatton fight in some bar at the night. Im not a big rugby fan but the bf is and im sure i will enjoy it.

So a bit of a sport action packed weekend not looking forward to the drive but I will put my tunes on and brave the friday night rush hour traffic with a smile.

Just for today I will not gamble.

Morning,

Payday for me too today. Instead of wasting my day looking at the weekends sport I have already sorted out who is having what for xmas and on Monday I will be off to do my shopping. No December rushing around loathing the fact I will have no money in January.

Another measure for is to gauge how far we have come.

Friday night tunes I think I would quite like that despite the traffic and weather.

Have a great weekend,

Flagg

Hi Blondie

Thanks for your comment.

I hope you enjoy the game on the weekend.

I can still remember staying up and waiting for the wages to hit the bank then gamble it all in one night when we spend a hole month working are a** off to earn.

So no more handing our hard earn money to the casinos.

Stay strong and enjoy life

Hi Flagg enjoy your weekend to, i would buy those xmas gifts early before the rush.

7 MONTHS today gamble free and another milestone acheived.

Pay day today as well and no thoughts or urge to gamble instead I did 70% of my xmas shopping on line with a coffee and a smile that this year I am ahead of the game and wont have any of that guilt, stress or worry that I cant buy presents.

My mum is coming to mine this year for christmas dinner and I already have most of my table decorations sorted as well, wine is also ordered on line and i even have wrapping paper and cards (Im laughing as I type this) because I cant quite beleive what im typing.

Its brilliant and amazing how my thinking and outlook has changed these past 7 months for once i have my prioritys right and its not a 17" laptop screen pressing play till my brains are well and truly fried.

Christmas 2012 although tinged with sadness that my dad wont be here to spend it with us will be a great christmas and I have my holiday a week later which will start 2013 the way I intend to spend that year, Happy, content, excited about the future and most importantly. GAMBLE FREE.

Just for today I will not gamble.

I hear you are Christine... noooo.... Oh Blonde One.

Thanks for your post... I am fine.... slipped... stood up... slipped again.... put on better shoes.

Really good to see you focused and continuing through all that is placed in front of you....

7 months... wow.

Always reading... as you suspected before... just ok doing that at the moment... but it felt being rude on my part not replying.

Hugs to you Blonde.

Jon

PS.... ( and you have seen this one before... but this IS you !!)

There are, it has been said, two types of people in the world. There are those who, when presented with a glass that is exactly half full, say: this glass is half full. And then there are those who say: this glass is half empty. The world belongs, however, to those who can look at the glass and say: What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!

Blondie,

Seven months, taking your life in your own hands, something that you my dear friend should be very proud of,very proud indeed.

The feelings of xmas approaching and the ability to enjoy it through the endevour of our hard work to abstain and maintain,is something I deeply relish.

And for you I know your Dad will be there in spirit, you carry is memory with such pride it would be impossible for him not to be part of your celebrations,in fact he will be a part of your life journey, for that be proud, you took your life back from this terrible all consuming addiction, keep hold of those reins!!

yes we are and always will be one bet from blowing it all!! Today do you fancy the odds?? ME NEITHER!!

Lets keep making the choice, just for today, lets better our tomorrow.

Again my sincere whole hearted congratulations on your acheivement,a journey I have been honoured to share.

Heres to many more posts be it laughter,or tears we unconditionally will do it together.

duncs stepping forward never back.
