Day 269

Hi Julie

Yeah been a bit of a nightmare, I didn't get a single point for 13 years then 3 offences in a year! The road I drive is notorious (it has the 3rd most lucrotive cameras in the country. I have just bought a box so it bleeps when cameras are near by, purely a concentration thing. 36 in a 30, 37 in a 30 and 58 in a 50. No excuse as you say but I am driving slow now! I drive 18,000 miles a year on average so really need to be careful.

It was actually my brothers GF who sent it to him. He felt I needed to see it to show exactly how lucky my escape was. Everyone can see her for what she really is so I guess it helps fuel the fire to move forward and not to look back.

Thank you for posting as you know, it truly helps moving day by day, your advice and comments always appreciated. Have a lovely day.

Matt

DAY 270

So Friday is here, the weeks are flying by! Bit of a frustrating period as the ex still hasn't signed the equity transfer forms, no idea what she is playing at by dragging it all out. Just want it all legal now so the chapter is firmly closed!

This weekend is a reasonably quiet one compared to the last few. Tonight I am out for a friends birthday. Saturday I plan to buy a strimmer and tidy up the garden some more and do my man chores. I plan to chill out Saturday evening but I do have some work to do (big potential contract I am working on). Sunday I am taking my niece out. Looking forward to it.

I hope everyone has a good weekend. Stay strong all.

DAY 275

Busy weekend, Friday I went out locally for a lad's birthday. Went into town and we all had a few too many. I came home and I guess the alcohol took over and I got a little upset. I went into what was my exes daughter's room and shed some tears. There is still some grieving to be done it appears.

Saturday I mowed the lawn and went into town and got some bits and bob's with a Robert Dyas voucher I was kindly given for my bday. Saturday evening I went to a local theatre on my own to watch an amateur production that was on, bit of a spontaneous thing to do but it was a good little show and entertained me for a couple of hours.

Sunday I went to meet my folks, brother, his GF and my niece for a pub lunch. Got a hard time from my old man about one thing or another but all the work on myself I have done basically has helped with these times. I realise he forgets I am an adult. My Mum sent me some apologetic texts about the way he spoke to me but I really didn't let it affect me, he can get on with it.

Monday eve a weird and annoying one. I had written a thank you card to a girl I have dated a few times (she bought me a little gift for my bday). I left the card and a small bunch of flowers in the kitchen as I was seeing her later in the eve. I came home from work and the card was on the kitchen side opened with no sign of an envelope, the flowers looked a little dmaged too but can't catergorically say they were not before so I won't. It appears my ex had been back to the house and for some reason felt the need to open a card addressed for someone else. The girl is a nut job, I am glad I had no small animals in the house to boil. Interesting tho seeing as she has been with someone else 6 months and who is allegedly (according to facebook, see previous posts) the love of her life.

Solicitiors are waiting for her signed transfer of equity form, as soon as that is received those locks will be changed and a big f#ck off guard dog will be employed 🙂

Stay strong all.

Matt

DAY 280,

Had another good weekend. Friday I went to the gym after work for a real hard session, chilled out in the evening. Saturday morning did my man chores with music blaring (I was a bit like Kevin from Home Alone when he realises his parents have goneha ha) Dancing around with a broom and such! Then my Ukraine customers came to visit. We went to the coast for fish and chips and then onto the harbour for a few drinks. They had a really good time and it was nice to catch up.

Yesterday was my old man's bday. He came down with my Mum and brother and we went for a pub lunch. They left about 3 and then my friend came over on his motorbike, picked me up and we went and found a country pub garden. I had never been on the back of a bike before, quite scary but fun all rolled into one. Another weekend gamble free and life feeling good.

I am hoping this week I finally get the good news from the solicitors and the ex signs the forms. No idea what is taking her so long, must be busy in her new amazing relationship. Either that or being a detective and hunting down the girl I have dated a couple of times armed with an empty envelope as a clue ha ha ha ha!

Hi Matt glad you've had a couple of good weekends and 280 days is quite something!! Ref ex I think she may be suffering from a) I don't want you but don't want any of else to be with you b) Proving to everyone, including herself that her life is AMAZING. But you have put some much into turning your life around I wouldn't waste brain space on her but totally understand your hurt at the lose of relationship with her daughter. Be kind to yourself as you are obviously a top bloke and deserve better, take care and have a super week S:)

Thanks Sharon.

Yeah I really don't waste too many of my thoughts on her now, it is more just errr can you just get on with the transfer of equity please as your not welcome in my home anymore. I have been paying the mortgage and bills since she left so not quite sure what right she thinks she has to come into my home and start rooting through my stuff!

I hope your journey is going well too and you are reaping some of the rewards a gamble free life provides.

Take care Sharon.

Day 281

Firstly thank you Sharon, glad things going well for you as well.

Now Mid July, I can hardly believe that possible. I have realised I have 17 days holiday left out of my entitled 20! No wonder I feel knackered, I need a break. I think a holiday maybe out of the question as I have a fair amount to pay out for in the coming weeks and months but some time off to recharge I think is definitely in order.

Sat here typing this in reflection. The realisation that 8 months almost to the day I felt my world had fallen apart and 6 months probably to the day I went to that pantomime absolutely heart broken. My life is very different now but I am excited for the future. August 24th I was due to be getting married I am wondering how I will feel on that day, one thing though....I will not be gambling 🙂

Stay strong everyone

Thanks Sharon,

Yep time to put that horrible period finally to bed. Excited for my future now.

Once confirmed I am definitely going to book some time off, even if just to stay at home and chill out!

You too! Keep strong and enjoy a GF week.
