Hi Liam,
Well done on beating the urge to gamble and withdrawing that money into your bank account. Well over a month gamble free, and you're still on the right track. I hope you don't think this question too forward, but doesn't going into a bookies to watch sport and logging in to a betting account feel like tempting fate? Please don't take it as a criticism, as it isn't, I just know that going so close to something that is such a problem for me would likely lead to a disaster. We are all different and have different ways of approaching the fight to conquer the addiction.
I'm a boxing fan myself, and I still love watching it on Sky, but I do find myself wondering when they have the betting expert talking through the odds. Keep up the good work mate, and as julie says, self excluding is not a sign of weakness, it just helps to put one more block between you and gambling. Setting positive goals for yourself is also a great step, having battled back from big debts myself, I remember the satisfaction of finishing paying each debt, and the little treats I'd allow myself for doing so.
Hope to be following your diary to success for a long time to come.
All the best
Ryan
Absolute utter and total legend.
That pretty much covers it mate - so so so proud of my 2014 team mate and also to have the nuts to tell people that you logged on and stuff - the cap is doffed.
Soon to be 50 - what a milestone!
Congratulations and you are a huge inspiration.
Mr Brightside
Reading your diary reminds me so much of myself, well done for reaching day 50 you have done yourself proud. One thing I always struggled to deal with was giving financial control to my mum, but now I have it creates another barrier to stop me gambling. In the past I have stopped but slipped up and blown a lot of money, maybe you should consider letting your mum take control of your money?
Affected by gambling?
