An extra hours sleep if you live in dear old Blighty

60 more minutes to party before donning pajamas or nighty

The mornings may be brighter but the evenings will be dark

And soon we'll get the fireworks to make the dogs all bark

And Halloween is coming up with screams and scary faces

I think I'll go off to the moon with all my stuff in cases

On the side of luggage I will label "Stephen The Humble"

Gamble-free in outer space - rocking and ready to rumble

So much sorrow in the world with famine, floods and wars

I am real lucky sitting here (warm - well fed - indoors)

Ashamed that I used to gamble whilst saying "woe is me"

But now them days are over and I'm grateful to be free

Whatever will the future bring? - well that I do not know

But best I keep on smiling and just enjoy the show

Stopped smoking ........ 18 years 4 months ago

Stopped gambling ....... 10th October 2019

I am not lacking gumption nor am I fool

In fact I am a gent who is really rather cool

Addictions do not cause concern or tell me what to do

I simply turn my back on them and smile the whole day through

I do not make excuses nor do I have regret

No need to dwell on past mistakes so I will just forget

Weighed up all the options and thought the whole thing through

My rallying cry cos I don't bet is Yabba Dabba Doooo

Payday tomorrow which makes me real happy.

Better have a shave so I look a little snappy - Yihaaa Woohoo

Going to a dance class for the over 50's at 11-30 followed by lunch and a bit of shopping in the afternoon and in the evening I will be at a Halloween party. 

Gamble-free with passion stirring in my soul

A smile upon my face and ready to rock n roll

Fun and laughs aplenty but life is not a farce

Come on you gambling demons and kiss my sorry anterior gluteus maximus

On a world rotating - alone in empty space

A very pleasant planet with a charming human race

And everything looks rosy now that I am gamble free

For me and others like me its the only way to be
