Well here goes!

Been away on holiday for 3 weeks with no gambling, but back in England now with the temptation in front of me again. I logged onto the only website I used this morning and sent them a self exclusion email, so that should be sorted today.

I just need to keep busy tonight when I finish work to stop me from going to the bookies. Think I'll go for a swim and a sauna to lose the weight I put on whilst away.

Wish me luck

Well thats the 1st day back in England over and I have not gambled. Got an email back saying I'm excluded from the Internet site I used. Didn't go to the bookies after work.

I'm feeling positive, had an urge driving home last night to go to the betting shop but over came it and went straight home.

More of the same today, no more gambling for me!

This time it's not about luck Bandit. I know you can do this and more importantly...you know you can do this. Reclaim your life.

Best wishes :0)

Thanks PK

Still clean, 3 days home, not gambled yet.

I've never felt like stopping before. But this time I know I'll not be gambling again.

Thanks

When you REALLY want to stop you feel the difference from the times you thought you wanted to stop. Stay strong :0)

I think your right, I've never felt like this before. In the past I've said to myself I'm not doing that again but never meant it.

This time it feels different. Hope it lasts

Still not gambled, feeling strong.

The urges to go are still there and I still think about it but I'm resisting so far.

It will be 4 weeks on Monday since I played the machines. I really want to get to next payday so I can see the benefits of not losing all my money. Roll on the 25th!

Well i have made my first goal. Not gambled for a month.

2nd goal is to get to pay day on the 25th.

I've managed to pay all my bills, had no direct debits bounce. So no bank charges this month, thats a 1st for a while.

I've opened an online isa to move every penny i have left in my bank when i get paid again each month.

Feeling positive for the first time in a while.

Good. There are many things it's easy to be negative about but it's much better for you to try to stay positive. Knowing there are people here who know exactly how you feel and the hurdles you face, should help.

Wednesday now, still not gambled. 16 days till my next goal!

Feeling strong still, keeping myself busy on a night after work is helping, cos that's when I used to do most of the damage.

Going to keep coming on here and reading the posts just to remind myself how low you feel after a loss, and the damage that this thing can do.

Made it to Friday, 32 days without a bet. Not felt too bad this week, not thinking about it as much.

2 weeks till payday, my next goal!

33 days, still clean.

The missus is off work today so don't even have to try and stay out the bookies, we'll be shopping somewhere.

Not feeling the same urges as before, and when I do think about betting I can switch them off.

Still massively confident I can beat this, keep strong everyone

Day 34, still going strong.

Couple of matches on today so that should keep me busy watching those.

Thanks GT, I just think I've hit a point where I don't want to do it anymore.

Sick of all the lies and sneaking about.

Hope this feeling doesn't go away.
