hi shake the disease.

don't be too hard on yourself, that's why the blocks are there, when our willpower isn't enough. I have thought about putting a bet on at times throughout the 59 days I've been on this site, I try to look at them as bumps in the road rather than undoing all the good that's happened in the last couple of months. keep going.

I'm also guilty of arguing with the Mrs when really she's do be nothing wrong. that's sometimes the hardest bit to control just taking out my frustration on her. it will get easier hopefully.

like I said don't give up on all the days achieved because of one bad one.

take care,

A

cheers A , thanks for your comments, really helped to hear someone else's view., helped put a bit of perspective on things, all good with her indoors as well now so no damage done, like you say , a bump in the road.

bit more philosophical about it today , thinking about 2 weeks today its the big 100 so thats the focus now. was disappointed in myself because ive been larging it up on here lately making out ive cracked it, Monday was a stark reminder that you can do 100,200,500 days and a relapse is only a bad mood away. Thank you Gamstop

keep on keeping on

Thanks for the post on my diary, I too had the dark mood and it must be this illness trying to get us back to a bookies. So glad Gamstop saved you from slipping up it’s been a huge help for me as it stops me trying to look for new bookies. As for the footy you were right it was indeed a Checkatrade match and a most enjoyable but also frustrating game. I hope you have a great trip, sort things out with the missus and I look forwards to reading about you smashing through the century mark!

https://www.theguardian.com/society/2018/sep/05/premier-league-betting-sponsors-ignore-plight-of-uk-gambling-addicts

Tom Watson, the shadow culture and sport secretary, said: “Britain is suffering from a hidden epidemic of gambling addiction and it’s the NHS and communities picking up the bill. Football fans in particular are bombarded with gambling advertising.

“Nearly half of Premier League clubs have a gambling sponsor … Labour would ban sponsorship of Premier League teams by gambling companies and introduce a compulsory contribution to make the industry pay for the treatment of gambling addiction.”

the premier league clubs will never go along with this because they are as greedy as the betting firms that sponsor them. They banned tobacco sports advertising so why not gambling firms?

cheers ALN much appreciated, good luck on your journey. I always feel the need to gamble when im depressed or bored , the times when you feel you need a little lift and a little win can instantly make you feel better about yourself. Of course a lot of the time you dont win but because youre on a downer you dont really feel any worse , you just dont care and the self destruct mechanism kicks in. Its only when the fog clears that you realise the damage youre doing which makes you depressed - repeat cycle.
