30 Weeks Gamble free!!!

Haven't posted for ages, but still happy to report I am gamble free! Had a fab Xmas, totally spoilt by my husband. I had a temp retail job but it ended on Xmas eve so need to find something else asap as I have no money!!! Don't know when I will hear from the civil service - I am on a vacancy list but there is no timeframe 🙁

I must admit I have had some small urges but I just push them aside and remember the bad times. I want 2014 to be a good year for me! Many goals I want to achieve but won't list them as I feel I may jinx myself so will only talk about them once I am on my way to achieving them.

Lovely to hear from you again. A huge well done on your 30 weeks free from gambling. That is great news!!

The Tesco savings works on your clubcard. You have to have it activated with clubcard. You can do this on the Tesco website and/or ring the free phone numbers to have it set up. It works on the basis that any time you shop at Tesco, you can have money added to your club card. You can add as much/little as you wish whenever you wish. You cannot use any of it though until I think, November. Also, any money voucher you would normally be sent throughout the year are kept for you until again, I think, the end of November so again, it's more savings for you.

I am going to give it a go as well as my Sainsbury's gift card, which again, you can get from the store and add to it what/when you wish. This card however, does allow you to use your savings throughout the year if you wish.

Christmas was lovely but I want it to be even less stressful by knowing that I will at least have some money set aside for food/drinks/presents etc. (I bought a load of my presents at Sainsbury's and managed to get most of them on the 20th when they had great sales on)!!!

Massive congrats on 30 weeks gamble free that's really impressive and you should be very proud of yourself. I hope you have a bit of luck on the job hunting front and that you can complete those goals you have set yourself. I think its great to have things you want to do or happen etc. You go get em! Hope everyone out there is keeping well. Had a quiet week, job hunting is doing my head in, feel so useless and inadequate! Being unemployed can really test your self worth. I feel so uncertain about myself and my future. Need to keep my chin up and keep going. I also really need to address my diet - need to start exercising and cutting out the cr**.

36 weeks free from online gambling!!!

Oops haven't posted for a while, thanks for writing on my diary Sandra. Well I got a job, though not sure if it is something I want to do in the long term but glad to be back at work. Not much else really going on but have just had a call from my husband who was out on his bike and has fallen off and broken his collarbone so I have to make my way to the hospital soon. Such a nightmare, not sure how he is going to be able to get to work etc, I feel sick and worried about how we are going to cope 🙁 Hope everyone out there is keeping well, enjoy the rest of your Sunday 🙂 x

37 weeks gamble free!

Thanks for the replies guys. Another week gamble free. Husband has broken his collarbone, nightmare! He will be off work for a while, I was kind of freaking out about it all but he assures me it will all be fine! I get my 1st pay on Friday, have to contact Stepchange and increase my monthly payment on my DMP. It will good to get some money, but will be aware of any little voices tempting me to the dark side, I know this can happen at any time, especially when you least expect it. Lovely to hear from you again. I treated myself to a lovely large mixing bowl - the beige one with the cream inside. It doesn't have hearts on it - it has diamond shapes all round it. I wished I knew about the ones with hearts on as that as I collect lots of different things with hearts on them!!

Lovely to hear that you are still doing well. Be wary of pay day - that was always my big downfall. I still get the odd twinge around this time still but just remind myself that it is just an urge, it is normal and more importantly, IT WILL FADE AWAY!! I feel so much better these days, when I have got passed pay day and still have all of my money to pay my bills and more so lately, able to treat myself!! You will be doing the same if you continue to do what you are doing, I am sure of that.
