Ha, Mr Gamble wouldn't know a treat if it smacked him in the face...Flipping cheek, who does he think he is (Grrr)!

Weird how the niggles appear & a bit s**t (ooo sneaky, I did sh 1 t & they got me) that you haven't managed to shake them off yet but you will 🙂

Congratulations on getting through your 1st week @ work 🙂 Hopefully you now know where the toilets are & who can fix the photocopier (sure as eggs is eggs, it will spend more time broke than working, like ending up with an odd sock on every wash, no reason for it, it just is) 😉

Have a lovely time with the little man & enjoy the freedom the car brings. Keep winning ODAAT - Juuuuuune

Good morning diary,

320 days of winning by abstaining and maintaining one day at a time.

Not sure yet what I am going to do today apart from housework and washing lol, but one thing is for sure I won't be gambling,

Just going to enjoy the weekend with OH and chill lol.

Received an email from a dear fellow soldier this morning, who is really struggling at this time, am sending this soldier lots of strength to get through this hurdle on and off the forum. thoughts are with this soldier today.

Wishing everyone a strong and peaceful gambling free day.

Suzanne xx

Hi Suzanne

Just wanted to say hello and a huge well done to you for continuing on your journey. You are very fast approaching your first year of abstinance, which I know is a great feeling.

Thank you for your continued support on my diary. It is much appreciated.

Take care and have a lovely weekend.

Good afternoon diary,

321 Days of abstaining and maintaining and not one single penny spent on any form of gambling, even though life is tough at times

lol.

Well had a big surprise this morning, son that lives up here knocked the door at 8.00 with flowers and card and waiting to take me out for a big English hearty brekkie, had no idea this was going to happen, it was lovely( he is on call all weekend til 12 tonight) so wasn't expecting any of it, and as I write now my OH is cooking a big Sunday lunch, won't be able to move afterwards lol, just have to watch the films he is downloading now lol .

Mother's Day is always a sad day for me and OH, I lost my Mum 25 years ago and OH lost his Mum to cancer when he was only 15 and she was 39 Mother's Day has mixed feelings in our household understandably.

We have one life, yes we make mistakes, bad judgements, take wrong turns as we go along, but that is life, we just have to learn from our mistakes (even if it is trial and error) as long as we progress albeit in small stages after rock bottom we can't go wrong, life can be so rewarding and fulfilling as long as we stay in recovery and know it is a lifetime commitment, CGS will never be cured it's in our blood now (so to speak) but we can live quite happily along side of our addiction, because we are in control of recovery, but we are not or ever will be in control of gambling.

Wishing everyone a happy and peaceful gambling free Sunday.

Suzanne xx

Thanks Suzanne,
Spot on! Those of us who learn to accept its part of us & learn to offer addiction something preferable to gambling seem to find the process a little easier. Those who pretend it never existed or wish it would just go away continue to struggle. Someone told me early in my recovery if you want to stand toe to toe with addiction, try to assert your control over him your going to lose. Acknowledge hes a part of you & work with him on what you can both do to find a mutually beneficial peace

Good morning diary,

322 days today, and no thoughts whatsoever to jeapodise my recovery.

2nd week now at new job, it should be easier this week, as I am getting used to the new environment.

Had a lovely day yesterday, despite the awful weather lol, and not one thought to gamble, which makes me feel pretty good.

Wishing everyone. Strong, positive and calm gambling free day.
