Finally hit my landmark of one month and feel great, went out and bought a tea without thinking whether it’s expensive and should be spending that much. I just do comparisons on how much I used to gamble and it starts putting your life in to perspective on how much you spend. Going to the gym tonight and keeping myself busy in a positive way. Had a £25 haircut on Saturday and didn’t care about the price but felt great after. Enjoy life with your money and not give it to people who don’t even know who you are!

Well done just on 32 days myself! I have just been living and not worrying about money, as I know I am earning more than I am spending (first time ever!!) my debts can be sorted in time - keep up good work!

Thanks jappy for the support, on day 34 now, feel like I have so much more money in my account it feels so weird because I would be scrapping for pennies at this point! Going out clubbing today for my birthday which is all paid off so will be a good time with me and my friends. Hope everyone has a good weekend and enjoys themeselves without the need of gambling.

Another weekend free gambling! on day 36 now and enjoying life without the guilt. Feel so much more confident in myself, have a clear goal of getting in to decent shape for next summer and looking good for it instead of down and depressed. A bit broke at the moment but would of been a lot worse if I was gambling. Have my friends wedding this Saturday and will give her a £100 for it which will make a huge difference to her. Something I would feel a lot better doing instead of giving it to the bookies. She’s been struggling to move out of her current house and I know it will help her out. The bookies see our £100 as nothing to them but to us and our families it’s a lot of money in the context of things. It could pay a bill off or pay for the food shopping for a week or so. Can’t wait to finish another week off and get closer past the 50 day mark.

On day 38 now, have been one of those people who have been caught with that cold going around so off work for a couple of days. Have been thinking of New Years resolutions and one I will definitely have will be not to gamble as I would of gone past the 50 day milestone before the new year which I reached before relapsing. Keep going guys can’t wait to hit day 40

40 days today so glad I hit the milestone another one ticked off! Can’t wait to see day 50 now! And then hit the next goal of the new year! Started looking in to my side business more and speaking with the marketing agency and how to improve it. Have changed marketing agencies and it hasn’t been updated since 2015!!Came up with a lot when my mind was free and can’t wait to get my business at a good level and making it it’s best for the summer time of where it’s peak sales will be. All my money is going in to it and if it doesn’t work it doesn’t work but atleast I can say I have tried my best, it’ll give me the satisfaction that I put my money in to something that could be very profitable in the future instead of gambling. Starting to already get traffic building even though only being 2 months so very enthusiastic to see what the possibilities are of this. Keep going guys, we’re not bad people it’s just a bad habit. This weekend I will be busy with my friends wedding and just put all my thoughts on her special day and not worry about what horse has won etc!

Have a good weekend guys!

Was on a bit of a high this afternoon and now a bit of a downer after looking at my account, have literally no money left for the next two weeks till I get paid, don’t know how I’m gonna manage this. Really wish I didn’t gamble before. It’s like I’m in a catching up state. How do people get over this? A lot of money this month has been spent on family so don’t understand why I feel like this even though the moneys gone in a positive place. I think it’s down to the fact I was getting serious with my ex girlfriend but never thought I was financially good enough for her, whenever I look at my accounts it just puts me down again even though I’m trying to change my life around. Really need payday soon

On day 48 now 2 days to the big milestone! Friends decided to go out last night but decided against it as want to try and cut alcohol down as well. Going in the gym to do some rowing and have also been training with my personal trainer which is making a massive difference. Looking forward to not gambling in 2019 and trying to put a savings account together

This has really inspired me! Thanks for sharing, I’m on day 3, and in that very early stage of desperately needing payday and trying to focus on the positives rather than the money lost.

Thanks for the kind words mate and hope it’s helpinrg you out! Just keep going strong, the first month is always the hardest but give it a couple of more pay days and watch the amount of money you will have to yourself to make a change for the good. I wouldn’t say I’m massively better financial wise at the moment and that’s down to me giving money to my mum who has come to me for support and also spending time with all my friends. Planning on doing dry January which will help in terms of finances but have not had any moments where I’ve regretted spending that money compared to what gambling would do to me. Just think about the change you can make to the world with the money you have, if it’s for yourself or using it to help someone out closer to you and relieving the stresses that you might not of seen when in the gambling bubble. But I’m very confident that this time in April I will be very happy financially and feel a lot more confident with what I’ve achieved in the first quarter of the new year and you can do it too!

Day 49 today, woke up early this morning, decided to do cycling in my gym. Feel good I’ve done something productive. Legs are aching though! Keep thinking of how close I am now to my first major goal of day 50 gf which will be tomorrow! Can’t wait, feel so much better in myself, and can start to see the difference with my get up and go. Have a good end to the weekend guys! Life’s good!

Finally hit my major milestone of 50 days. Feel so proud of myself and aiming to do it till end of the year now so that I can set up another thread for doing the whole of 2019. Feel like a weight has lifted off my shoulders. The reason why it’s such a big milestone is because last time I got to this stage I relapsed, but I’m in such a better headspace then last time. All I’m thinking about is my trip to Ibiza with the guys in the summer and how much fun I can have. I’ve done it before where I didn’t gamble and had a cracking time so keep getting thoughts of that which is helping me get through this. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for me! Have a great Monday guys!
