Hi wp

So good to hear from you and more importantly see you are still gamble free. Of course this week is a tough week for horse racing lovers but I think as long as you remember where any winnings or losses will lead us we just say NO.

Take care, hope your own personal circumstances improve as well as your own mental health. All the best

Keith

Hi wp,

As I will re-iterate on the check-in diary, I did say that I was perfectly happy for anyone to check-in this week and I would change the date on the first post accordingly.

Hi wp,

Thanks for the post. I am truly busy. This week was difficult. Caused me some pain which I didn't know I could feel. It was so hard but not impossible. So I am saying goodbye for a short while anyway. I will still be reading from time to time. You have been inspiring and I look up to people like yourself who have avoided this evil for so long. I plan on doing the same. I will always know that the demons lie in wait. Thanks for your advice.

Best wishes to you, IanB.

Hi wp... Been a long time...hope you ok?

I should have been paying attention to the diaries...I had no idea the races were on...that obviously means huge payouts/losses...and lots of money from the machines to punters and vice versa....Ahhh I learnt the hard way...Biggest loss ever. Hopefully I can turn this around and stay gamble free for the rest of my life from this huge mistake.

I wish you well.

thanks Jeff,easy life,ianb,andy,nearly there ? ( Nearly caught me out there),ade,keith and s.a.

Ade nothing sarcastic about my posting.i have known you more than most on these pages and just know from experience that when you go quiet on here it is not a good sign. I am pleased however that my posting on your diary has made you more determined to beat this.

Another month passes bet free.

Cheltenham came and went as i stated i swapped for afternoon turns.another useful barrier in staying out the way.

Last weekend was the masters to which temptations were there as friends and family had bets on so i couldve had a wee opportunity to gamble. However i chose not to. Beating this is all about choices. We can all have as many barriers as possible in place to stop us gambling but at the end of the day its down to us (the individual) whether or not we do.

Its the grand national festival this weekend, everyone from kids to granny and grandmas will be allowed a pick from 40 runners in the hope of finding the winner.in fact i used to be so selfish on grand national day as it took me ages to get my bets on when the shop ques were out the doors lol.

Still got massive financial restrictions from my past stupidity and cant hide the fact that it gets me down as it will be years before i am debt free.

Anyways not much to look forward to except keep plodding on odaat.

Today i wont bet tomorrow i wont bet,

Catch you later.

Hi,

Thank you for your post. I suppose each day is one day closer to resolving the dept, even though it seems so far away.

Have a great weekend

Hi wp... likewise you have been doing extremely well recently under difficult personal circumstances... well done

As far as the debts go.. I always remember a chap from a GA meeting. He had several years recovery under his belt and during the course of his therapy he was saying that he will "never" be debt free unless he lived to a 130 odd!! At which point somebody pipped up and said "you might win the lottery mate!".. and we all raised a smile..except the chap that said it. He was very embarrased... because in the moment he had clearly forgotten where he was and what the meeting was all about.

I know its not easy.. I use to be crippled with debt.. but as long as you have agreements in place.. the debt will go down. maybe at some point as your circumstances may change you will be able to negotiate final settlements and bring things forward a bit. But anyway you don't really need me to be saying this stuff... but I did want to say something and thank you for your support. Cheers mate... S.A 🙂

Hey wp

Have been looking out for you to post, glad things are ok with you, hope the flat is a bit more comfy now.

Temptation is everywhere hun which makes recovery harder but your hanging on in there even under difficult emotional circumstances and thats the main thing.

Thankyou for the post, dont leave it so long next time.

Stay Strong

Hi wp,

Great to hear from you and that life is plodding along nicely for you.

Yes those debts are still with us but each day that we don't gamble is yet another day towards getting them reduced to zero.

Gambling has affected us all in many different ways and it's up to us to sort this out.

Which is exactly what you are doing!

Hey wp,

It's good to hear that you are still staying away from gambling. It has already wreaked enough destruction without inviting it in to do some more.

Debt is a tough one, I know I feel like the last two years of my life have just been involved in working to pay what I lost and continued to lose for some time. It is a plod, but every step in the right direction is one closer to getting back to where you need to be.

Work is just as likely to cause a dark patch as thinking about what gambling has done. Ultimately, we can choose to move forward. So far you've chosen correctly for every day of these last 27 months. Keep it up big man... and you will get to that light at the end of the tunnel, keep plodding.

All the best

Ryan

I can't commit to the check in dates and i see im just lagging behind everyone thats commited to the cause.

Today i haven't bet tomorrow s another day.
