Day 206

Been working in London for a couple of days. Having a good time exploring, rather than sat in my hotel room watching my bank balance disappear! Or in a bookies spinning a computerised wheel!

Off on holiday on Friday which I'm looking forward too, sun and all inclusive bar could be messy!

No thoughts of gambling at all, walked passed tons of betting shops and just felt a bit disgusted some of them open at 8am and close at 11pm! Those opening hour are strictly for complusive gamblers! No one needs to put a bet on that urgently they need those opening hours!

Lots of positive thoughts at the moment and feel like I'm becoming a 'normal' functioning human being!

Day 217

Just returned from a weeks long holiday which gave me no gambling urges.

Still feeling strong and confident so looking good!

Just to let the body recover from a week of excess now! Glad I have the weekend before work!

Thanks Suzanne for your encouragment!

Day 220

Nothing significant happening over the last few days. Worrying a little about money as I have so much coming up.

Deliberately not planning anything for the winter to try and slowly recover!

No other gambling worries, totally feel a different person. At the beggining of this I never knew what this felt like, I hoped to get here and think I'm finally in a much better place.

Still work to do and trying to improve myself every day, but I really can't see me going back to gambling.

Day 222

Really tired playing football last night, coupled with no eating well recently!

No gambling or thoughts of. Talking about my trip to the races with work colleagues today and seems like plenty of people go and don't gamble. Looking forward to the weight off my shoulders and just walking around socialising rather than running to the bookies and looking at the odds etc. I'll cheer on my mates horses but nothing more.

Got a wedding on Saturday with loads of friends so hopefully be a good one. More money as usual but I'm worrying about this in the winter!

Day 226

Another weekend passes with no gambling. No temptation so was relatively easy!

Noticing I am becoming much more social, not that I was anti social before but noticing I can hold down a conversation with anyone. Before I was probably distracted on other matters and found other peoples stories boring versus the £2k I had riding on a Russian Football match!

Not gambling is getting easier and life is getting more enjoyable, still not out of the woods but really seeing the benefits now.

Thanks for the post Sbisstopping. You can certainly take encouragement. I was as deep as you can get without losing everything, probably on the verge of prison and losing my family with some of my antics.

Day 229 and no gambling today

Quick chat with a girl from work about my upcoming trip to the races on a stag do. She bet on every race but didn't even watch, just drank! I'll be doing similar but without the betting! Horse racing has never really interested me as a sport, although I've wasted thousands on it!

I'm sure it will be a good day with plenty going on!

Started eating healthy yesterday for the first time in ages! Straight away I can tell the difference, much more energy although I am still peckish! So easy to eat junk! Going to try stick to healthy during the week and only eat rubbish when hungover/eating out! Along with a bit of exercise I should be much healthier in a few weeks.

Most I've probably thought about gambling recently was looking at the odds for the golf this week. Not sure why but I was curious, certainly not putting a bet on.

Day 247 (I think!)

Been a bit busy recently, stag do's, work parties and weddings taking over my life! Luckily only a couple more in the pipeline then a quiet winter!

Was at a race meeting on Saturday and wasn't even tempted to have a bet, watched the first 3 races with some mates that had a bet then just drank and chatted for the rest of the day. Was great, really loved the day, the weather was cracking and I didn't spend a bean on gambling!

Off work today to recover from the weekend but think I'm going to blow the cobwebs away with some golf.

Day 258

Flying through the days and finding it easier as time moves forward.

With the football starting there has been some temptation. The bookies look more attractive than ever with their little coupons that make watching football more exciting!

I've resisted quite easily though and feel the benefit with more pennies in my pocket.

Coming to the end of all the weddings, nights out and stag do's in my calendar which will give me a chance to recover financially and physically!

Day 271

About 3 months in the bag now and still going strong.

Much more temptation when the football is on. I really feel myself getting a bit complacent thinking I could have a little bet and watch the results.

Managed to resist so far, not particulary difficult but there is an annoying urge to get involved. Hopefully this will subside shortly.

In the rest of my life, things are good. Money is slowly improving and becoming less of a focus in my life. When we are gambling it's all about money, where are the next gambling tokens coming from. Now I've not been gambling the money is there when I need it and whilst I don't have the money to buy the Xbox One I want I know I will in a couple of months! I don't need to go out and put £50 in a roulette machine to try and win.

In the past I would look to the future and dread being able to afford anything, now I can plan for next year knowing I will be able to save. It helps with the anxiety, the anxiety used to lead to gambling which in turn led to anxiety so good to get out of that cycle.

Lovely to see you on 271 days tears, now is the time to strengthen your resolve even more, positive thinking, about getting your Xbox 1 lol, that is the only way you will be able to buy it and just as important keep it, lol, because you are abstaining and maintaining.

Take care and stay focused

Suzanne xx

Day 282

Chalking off the days. Had no wobbles at all. Looking forward to my 1 year coming up which coincides with my birthday!

The world is much clearer and my mind is much more relaxed. Off on holiday for a wedding this week which will be a nice break, last major expense of the year and nothing planned yet for next year which is good.
