Just admitted that have gambling problems to my wife and made first steps to recovery registered at Gamban and gamstop and my wife has now full control over finances
Telling your wife is very strong, well done.
Try to be honest, get everything out in the open now. The reason I say that is you want a fresh start with no other surprises coming out down the line.
During my own journey I’ve realised my mrs will never trust me again with money, why would she?, I ‘ve learned to realise that isn’t such a bad thing. Her lack of trust around money actually works in my favour and helps to keep me on the straight and narrow.
Youve made a fantastic first move now to keep the momentum going, block everything you possibly can. Start researching your problem as knowledge is power.
The one thing I think we all struggle to do is put gambling firmly in the past, it doesn’t happen overnight but it’s a frame of mind you need to reach to be able to tackle this addiction effectively going forward.
It’s human nature to be down and fearful at this point, but try to reach a level of positivity, you really CAN do this, it’s a blank slate to write the rest of your life.
Please don’t waste the opportunity that your wife is giving you.
Come in chat often and ask the questions that are bothering you, we are all in this together and try to support and encourage each other.
It may feel really bad right now, but it shouldn’t it’s the start of your new life, embrace it and move forward.
Good luck and we’ll done.
