Hi Jeff.

Hope you get whats rightly yours mate as regards work. The fact you travel 100 miles to and from work, they should realise the effort you put in and the time you give to make that trip.Hope it sorts it self out!

On another note mate....those gambling thoughts are never too far away....but you are in a much stronger position now and you know the road to take.I've had a few gambling thoughts myself now and then but i know deep down that taking that road is one way.No way back!

Anyway 2 years gamble free is something else.Have a great Weekend!

Viggo.

Hi Jeff, I still love your username.....ex-gambler jeff! No nonsense, just like you. A massive congratulation on reaching two years. That's one hell of an achievement. You've been great to so many people of these diaries, me included. You managed to get one over us a few weeks back....hopefully it will be City's turn this year. I live over on the east side of Manchester and there are so many long suffering fans. You and they deserve it! Russ

Hi All

Thanks Want to quit,wp,Kim,Viggo Russ and Curly for posting on my diary.

Kim the information on the website you gave me come in handy and although it informed me that they didnt have to legally give me travelling money i gave them a few chosen quotes and they returned to paying me the travelling plus the £50 owed so thank you for your help.

Well i booked both Friday and Monday off as i was going to a bird show with my m8 in cardiff (500 mile round trip for me).I actually booked today off to spend time with my family as i was back last night but havent seen them since Friday.(the kids are now off school)Come 4 o clock friday i started to feel ill and sfter a few drinks friday night i decided to go tomy room and sleep it off.Well it didnt work ive been ill and still am up till now. What a disappointing weekend ,which also cost a lot of money.Of course nothing to do with betting ,but as a lot of you know i am a big Man City fan(every cloud eh)I was listening to the match on the radio on the way home and obviously enjoying it then coming to the end say 5 minutes to go i realised hang on Jeff you always bet on City to beat Utd 3-1 and 4-1 and at old trafford these bets would have been a massive price.I thought typical for the weekend ive had but never mind you dont bet any more.I was wrong in my way of thinking City went on to score 2 more and i was made up.Just imagine how i would have felt counting all my winnings in my head if i was still gambling.Only for them to be taken away. The moral of my story is .

Ok i have had a s**t weekend but if i were gambling it could have been a lot worse and without gambling i enjoyed the win of my team. Thanks all Jeff.

Jeff. Thanks for the post on my diary mate. You are right with what you say. My strength comes from deep within. I have made the decision. It was a sacrifice cos I loved it so much, but the love affair had to end. As for you my friend, 2 years is an amazing feat. All credit to you and all the best for the future. Thank you again your words mean a lot to me. IanB.

Thanks Jim,Viggo and Ian for posting on my diary.

Today i have booked my last days holiday off as yesterday Man city were playing Liverpool.I knew i would be getting messy and i would wake up with a giant hangover and i was right lol.

Today is also my birthday and i will later be going out for a meal with the family.Of course this is something i never did while i was gambling. These days are so much different.Although i lost so much while i was a gambler House, car and failed relationships.I believe i have been lucky to stay with my missus and kids these last 9 years.Im sure if i had continued gambling id have also lost them.Ive worked out that today is day 785 gamblefree for me.

I must admit when i first came here i never dreamt i could change so much and i know im still fighting this addiction. But hey its a fight im winning on points. So I would like to thank you all for continuing to help me.All the best Jeff.

hi Jeff, firstly happy birthday, hope you have a great day.

secondly, 785 days............ i cant even dream of getting there yet. you certainly are well ahead on points in this fight.

it really is amazing that while we are gambling things like parties, meals out etc just dont feel relevant, i was out xmas shopping yesterday with my family we got a bit of lunch together on the way home, it really was a great day. simple pleasures are beginning to mean something again.

Good luck to you Jeff, keep up the fantastic work.

Hi All

This year i have been given an extra christmas present ,which is better than any other.

For those that have followed my diary will already know that my ex fell out with her family and moved away, she changed her number and told nobody where she had gone. Unfortunatley although i had done nothing wrong this included me.so i have not seen my son for almost a year.

She has now been in touch and i get to see him again starting christmas. No appology or real explanation, but who cares. Its made my christmas.

Now without gambling for over 2 years ,i was able to go out and spoil him for christmas.

Things are dropping into place. There is less and less bad luck in my life these days, and i really appreciate the good luck.Happy christmas to all.Jeff.

Wonderful news Jeff 🙂

I am so happy that you got an extra special Christmas present this year. You are reaping the benefits of changing your lifestyle, and it is true that good things seem to come to us naturally when we are putting good stuff out there in the world.

As you point out, the timing is perfect, now you have repaired some of the financial damage, and you can be the father you want to be. The father you always were, until gambling took hold of the reins.

Merry Christmas! 🙂
