Im 24 years old. I have been gambling for 8 years now, wrecklessly for maybe 4 of those & have known I was addicted for a large chunk of that time too. Its stops now.
Trying not to go into figures but I've debts all be it sustainable thanks to family of 5,000+. Have a solid income and if I can get rid of this dreadful addiction then my finances will be fine.
Football betting is my problem, I do the odd horse or dog but every time I get paid my first thought is "how can I double up".. Without fail the remaining money from my wages after bils are paid goes to the bookies. Ofcourse theres the winners but these are well out weighed by the losers.
Ive tried by myself to reduce or stop gambling. I know realise I cant do it..
Here goes. My gambling ends now. No excuse, no blaming jockeys or the striker who misses the penalty. They are not placing my bets. Its me & it will be me that stops!
