Thanks, man!

My computer has died, so I can't get online much. That said, I'm still doing fine, it's actually rather easy at the moment, not remotely interested in gambling. I'm not daft enough to get complacent though!

Best wishes to you all, I'll be back online soon!

HI Scott,

How that time flies. 6 months down. Glad to hear it. Your recovery is admirable. Remember you are 1 tiny bet away from absolute disaster. Who needs it though? gambling is a mugs game. You are no mug my friend.

Best wishes for your continuing and everlasting recovery. IanB.

Hi Scott,

thanks for passing by my diary. Your input means a lot to me, esp as you were the first to comment on my old diary (Mm), and that set me off and got me where I am now.

Firstly, congrats on 200. That seems like an impossible lenght of time. Really, well done, and I sincerely hope to join you in 100 days' time.

I read on another diary somewhere that BJ was your thing, as it was mine. I never was bothered about roulette, only games where it seemed I had an element of control. No doubt that's some weird flaw in my character, etc etc

Yes, times are hard, but if I can get through this first 6 months (and it's not a cert, but I'm trying bl00dy hard to get some money in) then I think it'll be all right.

stay strong

Hi Scott,

Thanks for the post. It was uplifting as always and much appreciated. Well done on your 200 days. I agree though it's only time. Like you say high as a kite in the first few weeks then when the steady norm kicks in, boredom and possible depression strikes. I did have a bad day but feeling much better now and have decided to wait for certainty then get all down about something I can't control.

It seems like you really know where you are at the moment and very much in control. Remember to keep that focus, stay positive and stick with that one day at a time attitude. You are free and so right, whatever life throws at us it will always be better than the place we were. You deserve it too my friend. Hope to hear from you again soon. Take care, best wishes.

IanB.

200 days is brilliant but like you, I am not counting any more.

I prefer to look to the future now.

And yes, one day at a time still works!

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Thanks everyone.

It was my birthday today (Feb 6th that is). It was relaxing and enjoyable, spent with my beloved. It's days like this that make you realise how wonderful life can be. Simple pleasures.

Best present I can continue to give myself is to not gamble. I'm in the best place I've been for a very long time, I put a lot of it down to the advice and support I've received from this very forum. So really, THANKS guys.

It may be my birthday, it's still just one day on the road. Long may it continue.
