Day 2

Here we go again. Recovery diary 4th attempt.

Seriously why is this so difficult?

My partner doesnt know I have this problem and to be honest Im not going to tell her, Im just going to stop. Thank god I dont have big amounts of money to gamble at this moment.

This forum has been a great help for me.

Will keep posting.

Hey Elvis, how are you today? Good on you for posting. It is incredibly hard. I know what you are feeling and I too have tried and failed, and tried again, and failed again.

My wife partially knows, she knows I have compulsions (around a lot of things, not just gambling) that when I start something, it is very difficult for me to stop. She knows I have gambled in the past. I do not want to let her know because i am afraid of what might happen if she finds out.

Get through today, take things one day at a time. Keep on that path my friend

Hello Elvis, great name shared with one of history's iconic figures.

From Suspicious Minds ~ We're caught in a trap, I can't walk out because I love you too much baby.

Sadly thats a thought which stops many breaking free from their addiction.

From If I Can Dream ~ We're lost in a cloud with too much rain ~ We're trapped in a world that's troubled with pain ~ But has long as a man has the strength to dream ~ He can redeem his soul and fly ~ Deep in my heart there's a trembling question ~ Still I am sure that the answer gonna come somehow ~ Out there in the dark there's a beckoning candle.

Wise words from a musical legend who suffered through his own addictions.

Gambling addiction recruits from wherever it can. Rich, poor, young, old it does not discrimanate. All our welcome in it's stinking cesspool of misery and torment. We have to give that cesspool a wide berth. If we go looking at it we might fall in and struggle to get out.

Wishing you well..stephen

Well done mate on coming back, who cares how many attempts we make, I have tried dozens of times, the difference is we keep trying and that is enough. You do what needs to be done and don't tell anyone if it avoids the stress and hassle that it can bring when people are told who don't fully understand our addiction.

Wishing you well and will support where I can.
