Thanks Bear. My life is very positive these days. If you'd just stop slipping it'd be even better. Me, you and Darkplace. In it from the start. We will get you there with us.

Walked around central London, showed the kids where I work, saw Trafalgar Square, went to the Trocadero, bought some souvenirs, took the kids to Hamleys. My little one was in toy heaven! Took my older son to the Ferrari shop opposite Hamleys. He was in heaven. Walked to Chinatown and had a feast then drove back to the flat where I now have a tired and happy sleeping family. Spent loads but not on gambling, on my family. The only outcome for my money these days.

Up early tomorrow, back into Central London, for a trip to the science museum. Plus my wife Tess is 40. Cake and cards on the agenda.

All round lovely day today. Night all. Hope you're all still gamble free.

Hi G. Thanks for posting on my thread lat week. Much appreciated. Sounds like you had a great time with your family. Well done on coming so far and having the clarity to focus on your family and real life. I couldn't have gone to Chinatown in the past without being tempted by the insane number of bookies and casinos close by. I was there with my family the previous weekend and barely noticed them now. I feel like I am now properly living and experiencing life instead of just existing through a haze of gambling. It seems like you are too. Keep it up.

Thanks Duncan.

Well the intention was to get up early, brekkie, quick trip to IKEA in Croydon then back to the flat and a bus/ tube into London for the science museum. Tess has never been to IKEA so promised her I'd take her whilst she was up the flat. Ok so I probably should have seen this one coming but after 3 1/2 hours I was having to drag her out of there. The boys were loving it too although the little one did spend an hour in the kids play area/crèche. Went for a quick mooch around and ended up spending loads but seeing as its my wife's 40th she was free to do what she liked. She has a big smile on her face.

Back home early afternoon, food and larking about with the boys then out for drinks with a friend who hadn't seen Tess and the boys in a few years.

Watched a film this evening and now crashing out. Another great day with my family. Not a thought of gambling. Two fingers to the gambling gods. I won again today because I chose not to gamble!

Hi sadg.

Thanks for your post this morning, i totally agree you should keep your name. Its as important to remember where you came from as to know where you are heading. Yes it seems we are living not to far from each other, i am about 20 mts from London. Maybe we meet up sooner rather than later ? have a great week my friend. Hope you have learnt your lesson with the wife and Ikea 🙂 Dark Place

Day 95

Off to the physio to try to get my knee sorted hopefully. No gambling whatsoever. Money is staying in my pocket.

G,

Was just looking at some of your recent posts. As much as I sympathise with you having to spend an afternoon in Ikea (I've been to the one in Croydon - my idea of hell on earth) it's great you can take a step back - realise how great it is to spend time with your family - and have some cash to treat them. One good thing that gambling does give to us (there aren't many) - is that having hit rock bottom - there's a heightened appreciation of the simple things when they return.

Keep up the good work mate.

Hi G,

You diary is always an inspiration. Thank you for sharing your life with us and reminding us what gamble free feels like. I'm approaching thr two month mark with gambling urges almost every day; even more than when I started. It is the thought of making the break though that you and so many others have achieved that keeps me going. Thank you.
