Hi Sadg

Ive been trying to rack my brains for what G stands for, Git was the only plausable one i could think of, i leave it up to you if you want to tell 😉

Great post again and thank you for honouring it to me, you have been sorely missed by all. That situation with the PC open and your wife was always going to happen at some time and i think you handled it well. If you had some how tried to deny your association to the world of gambling it would have been a disaster and your wife i can feel trusts you implictly. Its the biggest single thing you need in any relationship especially your wife. Saying this of course we have all betrayed our families and the people we love with gambling, it is the Devils work and represents everything that is evil in this world. I sometimes wach those charity adverts on TV where they ask for £2 to help a little boy or girl to have safe water of injections to save their lifes and think to myself, what on earth type of person was i when i was gambling £1000's of pounds away every moment i got the chance. It makes me sick to think what a selfish sick Fu**k i was back then. I remember moments when i had blown 2K all afternoon then my partner would say the children need new shoes and i would go off on one justifying why they did not need new shoes !!!! OH MY GOD what does gambing do to people, i know you have had those moments G, because we are alike ! then we were alike and now we are alike but in a positive way today. We have both helped each other and others as they have helped us to put our minds into the correct mode ! we are good people every single one that has dared to come on this site and kick this sickening disease. It is called salvation ! inisde it was slowly killing us and all others.

I compliment you in your honest heart rendering admission of your feelings and life, you are an inpsiration to me and all others and will continue to be.

Your Friend Dark Place /

Hey G I am back! Glad to see you are continuing to do so well.

I on the other hand have had a crazy little month with a slip back into gambling. Glad to say I have come to my scenes but certainly feel in need of your support and wise words!

Looking forward to hearing for you!

Luke

Still very much gamble free.

Must say I am sick to death of seeing gambling adverts on tv and then in the staffroom at work occasionally a programme will finish and on comes the late night programmes with live roulette. Come on!!! Smoking ads are banned yet it's ok to put live roulette on tv late at night when people have come in from nights out drinking. And they wonder why people have gambling addictions??? Can't watch a football game these days without seeing Ray Winstone or Kris Kamara at half time telling me to have a bet.

I'm in a good place these days and have no wish to lose my money gambling but it is way too much in peoples faces.

Rant over! I'm off to catch some sun in Barbados on Monday with my wonderful family. Can't wait. Everything is sorted, packed and ready to go. Just got to finish my working week. Last day Saturday dayshift. Ironically I have to attend a night at a dog track on Saturday. A very good friends 40th birthday and I cannot miss it but I won't be getting there till late and most of the racing will be over but I'm putting in an appearance. Will have a quick drink, let others enjoy the racing, then make my excuses and leave. I'm fine with it. Use to love a night at the dogs with friends years ago. Never been something I wanted to gamble on so it's not like I'll have any urges. It will just be nice to wish my mate a happy 40th.

Sunday will be spent relaxing then we fly Monday morning. Will try to log in and post but might be tricky with the family around me the whole time.

Have a lovely week everyone. I wish you all well.

G

G.

Fella for me the problems not the gambling but the compulsive gambler. We enjoy a pint or two but for some alcohol is there nemesis.

For me today through your hard work you live in harmony with your addiction.

Why should your friends not enjoy a wager on the outcomes of a race, for them a enjoyable pastime. For us we could not win because we could not stop.

Well not any more my friend.

We did win because we did stop.

Enjoy it, wow enjoy the family holiday.

Duncs stepping forward never back.

Hi big G,

Hope you are having a great time in Barbados! One of the things I am aiming for by not gambling is eventually to save up for a nice holiday. You totally deserve it, time to soak up the sun as you soak up your recovery.

Stay strong

Hey G sounds like you are doing really well my friend! I am still in the process of sorting my head out but I am getting there with things!

Have a great time in barbados!

As for me I am looking into activities to keep me busy, these will include a half marathon, tough mudder and getting into a regular gym regimen!

I have really valued your wise words and support. I was doing so well and know I will better myself this time

Just logging in from Barbados. It's humid and chucking it down with rain at the moment but the last 4 days have been beautiful sunshine. Drive all over the island yesterday.

Having a lovely relaxing time with the family and definitely no gambling. No thoughts of it. Coming up to 5 months gamble free and feeling much happier without it. Best wishes everyone.

Sounds great to be so far away from gambling. Why would you ever go back? Life is so much better without it. Keep choosing life! DB
