Yup, you really do deserve a pat on the back. I'm also losing the battle with the cigs (actually... don't have the courage to even try abstaining from that one). That you can quit smoking and gambling and still allow yourself to indulge in the brewskis, is amazing! Way to go.
Well wish the quiting gambling was going as well as the smoking. f-cked up wanna say wen and lost a $100. Yeah been taking the naltrexone kinda the Sinclair's method, where ya take it right before ya do the deed. Now It's more.meant for alcoholism than gambling but read it can help gambling urges too. Well took that nasty little pill before I walked in the door and can't say it made me wanna stop gambling but did make me very angry when losing. LOL. Yeah to the point that i envisioned my heel of my foot going through that machine. Yeah seeing that I banned from these casino's thought it be best to restrain from that thought. LOL LOL LOL hell did the usual walk of shame feeling like my b**t and knuckles be dragging through the parking lot and yeah, started the drinking binge that I thought would make me quite ill. Hell pill must of wore off cause yeah after consuming 4 or 5 beers woke feeling fine LOL LOL LOL
Yup can't even make a bad day work out like it should. LOL LOL LOL
Well, you've already achieved so much. It's not always easy, but you can do it again. Keep fighting, BS... whoa... maybe I'd better stick with "Soul"! Though, you should keep fighting the bull.
I'm from western Canada, soul.... a prairie girl. I live somewhat northerly so the lawn has pretty much stopped growing now. I should give it a final cut before the snow flies, though. Maybe those little pills are helping you fight the smoking battle?
Omfg to fricken funny, playing the SAIL music during half time at the home football game. LOL LOL LOL
Did up me chicken breast, mowed the lawn, pitched a mouse stuck to a trap and wonder how my 2 cats be making their keep. LOL LOL LOL
I guess at our age we are devious enough to get round any of the safety nets we put in place so boils down to willpower which on some days just flies out the window and away into the sky.
Much respect that you have conquered the smokey demons and am thinking if you can do that then you can mash the gambling ones too.
All power to you.
xxx
Yeah I hope the lawn mowing be coming to a end soon. The leaves are starting to drop and with any luck was the last time pushing that mower around for the year. Hell the other side of the duplex was suppose to move on Friday and still there. Nice folks I guess but sloth like when it comes to work around here. LOL seems their loan be held up for more cash down on the place their looking to buy. She's hoping Wednesday they'll finally get it all finalized and me too, since I'd like someone who don't mind lifting a shovel full of snow on occasion. LOL LOL LOL
Grilled out for the game yesterday and plenty of leftovers for work this week. Yup downed a few cold ones too of course and been liking this angry orchard apple cider lately. Gots pretty much the same punch as beer but more satisfying I think in that i don't drink as much of it. Guess it's more sipped than guzzeled. LOL home team won and I stayed home, cleared of any casino gambling any way. So yeah a not so bad day.
Must of been typing while you were posting fly. Hell I'm back using my HTC hero which is no treat tapping anything out on. LOL yeah me gallexy 2 note phone met a untimely death in being dropped in a otter box. Lol yeah had insurance on it but they still wanted another $100 to boot to replace it. Sh-it was less than 6 months old and cracked screens aren't covered under the year warranty. Thought f***k you folks and guess why would I want another when the first one proved so flimsy? Cancelled the insurance and went on a pay as ya go plan that saves me a cool $40 a month. LOL Yup good things happen sometimes inspite of the bad. LOL except typing on this phone really sucks. But maybe not as much as emptying a mouse trap. Yup just heard a snap in the dungeon. Useless cats. LOL #2 caught geees
Eeeeek! Mice! Can't handle that. If I had one in the house, I don't think I'd be able to sleep a wink. Wow... so amazed that you've come so far in conquering the smoking demon. Good on ya! Now keep working to throw the gambling demons in the dungeon.
Yeah i can't hardly stand them little bast-ards in the house myself and haven't seen one for a good few years. Hell had a mouse trap sitting in the dungeon ever since with some very moldy peanut butter on it, yeah had to be pretty hungry to be eating on that. LOL LOL LOL dam cats sure ain't earning their keep and guess when ya get fed a large shrimp daily what would make ya wanna eat mice I guess. LOL LOL LOL Guess the thrill of the hunt ain't in them.
A shrimp a day?? Definitely spoiled those cats are. Sorry, but I'm not a cat person... much prefer dogs ... and if the day ever comes when I can afford to retire, I will get a dog. So, to answer your question, smokes here cost $80/carton for the cheap kinds and beer about $22-25 a dozen. Yeah, it's expensive to live here compared to the U.S. but our wages are generally higher too, I think.
Hi Brokensoul,
Ur strength and determination shines thru, u r a fighter!
Stay strong and keep going xx
Omfg I can't imagine close to $50 for a case of beer. Lol hell guess the USA is jumping on your governments concept of the sin tax and all things that brings pleasure must have a hefty tax tossed on it. Lol yeah I'm sure beer will be getting another hit soon since It's been a while. Lol
My night in at work and just fricken spent. Hell Monday's tend to do that to all of us I guess. At least there wasn't another mouse to get rid of so yeah, cheers to that any way.
Hey my old friend Soul,
Just been catching up with your diary and so glad to see you still on here, still fighting the good fight. Love hearing about your food and beverage exploits too, I hope your new neighbours help with that snow shovelling more than the last ones.
Take care
Paulds
Yup, we really are taxed to death here. Maybe you need to get this ginger cat on board. I bet he'd catch those mice! Keep up the fight.
