263 days, another weekend passes by, no thoughts of gambling at all.

Was at a wedding over the weekend with my better half, had a lovely day. i remember the last wedding we were at, on the morning i dropped my wife to town to get her hair done, i went into the bookies and lost the cash i had for the day out (present & hotel). my poor CC came to my rescue that day as usual.

This time i dropped her to hair dressers, went got the car washed, read the paper and picked her up when she was finished, i guess what a normal person would do....

Had a great day out, not torturing myself about money lost, it felt good.

Life certainly can be good without the gambling deamon on your back.

Keep strong all.

Pat

passed 300 days yesterday (600 euro in my 2 euro a day fund 🙂 ) 43 week mark today.

Things are going really well. the odd thought of a bet enters my mind from time to time but it passes just a quickly so good on that front. the debt is going down slowly and im beginning to accept thats the way it will have to be, no quick fix (but its the quick fix mentality that helped get me into the debt to begin with)

the days and weeks are flying by, i find that i am starting to think more about the future, i feel like i can actually make plans now.

I see someone on here mentioned the xmas word recently, i must say i am actually looking forward to it so much this year.

I will keep fighting this fight and pray that i keep winning.

Keep strong all,

Pat

Amen to all of that!

You're within spitting distance of the big 'one year' now.

What'll you be having?

Do you want to talk about it?

No matter how you feel now, you still did 50 weeks without - quite an achievement. I bet that's the first time in your life you ever went so long without a bet. It's not the end of the world - a lot of us have a blip. I imagine there was a trigger - do you know what it was?

Pat,

I know that you must be feeling down at the moment and angry with yourself. I want to give you words of comfort but as usual I am struggling to find the appropriate thing to say.

So instead I want to say how incredibly far you have come on this journey and with your slip that journey has not ended or come to a dead end, it is merely a speed bump or a wrong turn that can be corrected.

You may feel that you are back to begining but you are not, the experience that you have given yourself over the past year means that now you know what real life is about and how life can be gamble free.

Get back on that horse and when you are ready post again, you will find great support on here as you have given to others. You may not remember but actually you were the first ever person to post on my diary after my iniital plea for help.

That was the day I realised that there were others who genuinly wanted to help, they are still here and so are you.

Paulds

Any chance of an update, Pat? I hope you're OK. Even if you're back in its clutches, could you pop on and tell us how you are?
