Been a tough day today. Had many thoughts and urges particularly as I am alone this evening with free time to myself. But I am not going to give in as it's too important and I have a goal that I want to achieve.

Can't remember day 5 being this difficult in the past. ODAAT.

Hi,

I just wanted to say its the tough days that build our strength , like lifting weights, if we only lift the light ones we will not build up any staminar for the long haul.Mind you too many tough days we could throw in the towel. Hopefully you will find a mixture of them both.

I hope tomorrow is easier for you, read your diary earlier. well most of it. Was inspired by your demtermination , to keep coming back and trying again, so many disappear .

You had a good bond with the posters when you joined this site. It is strange how we sort of gell with different people. I hope you once again find that comradship , because I think that helped you a lot at that time.

Dusty x

Thanks Dusty,

Have spent evening in chat & on diaries to keep me away from those urges. Have been very moved by Mark117's story and the sad news.

I feel much more settled now. I feel very humbled and fortunate.

Day 7

Feeling really sore after the gig last night! Not getting any younger!

No gambling yesterday and none for me today either.

Another gig tonight which is going to be tough to get through.

Welcome back Weldy.. and well done on your week gamble free (not ment to sound patronising by the way).

I'd love to go to a gig ya know. I don't have a social life at the moment. I use to go gigs when i lived in London that is before I prefered to stand at the machines.

Anyways, onwards to the next gamble free day.. S.A 🙂

Thanks NT & SA, yes very pleased with my first week done.

Just back in from gig no. 2 of this weekend, which went well.

Time for a bit of rest!

Day 8

Completed!

Things will only get better if I keep this up, that's for certain and my main drive for maintaining this defiance against gambling.

Not too many temptations so far either, which is a welcome relief.

Day 9

Been looking back over my diary since I first posted and today is 3 years to the day of my first post.

I wonder where in life I might be had I been like some of the others who post that have years under their belt?

I know that my diary reads like that of a habitual drop out, that I have had more slips than M&S sell, but each and everyone of us are individuals.

We all have our stories and our experiences and we will go whichever route we chose.

I am happy to be back, to be giving this another go so to speak.

My life has improved greatly from the darkest day 3 years ago when I joined this forum in a desperate state, and the reason for my return is because I could see that I was losing myself once again.

My reason for being here, to regain some peace and stability to my life and to settle the issues in my head, that a life of compulsive gambling is not what I want to choose.

Now, I must go and get some sleep - at least I don't have minus £ signs whirling round my head anymore!

Good night.

Good Morning Back

You have given me some food for thought this morning.

For that I thank you.

No doubt I will come up with a long winded post on my own diary , in which I will share these thoughts .

Hope you get a chance to read it, might need a spare hr or 2 lol.

Take care

Dusty

Day 11

All is good, despite being hugely frustrated with work (i.e. I just have too much to do for 1 person!)

No gambling thoughts and still very focused on keeping up the drive.
