Even thinking about the distress and panic makes me feel queasy wish I always thought like that.

Hi Gazza,

Great last post there my friend.

You are right to read back through your diary. We can all to easily forget the terrible times that we went through when gambling took over our lives.

It is easy to become complacent. I did, and now I am back on here to fight this long fight.

I have been with you throughout your recovery journey, from Day 1 in fact. ;0)

Now I am back to walk this recovery journey with you again. I may be 378 days behind you, but I will still be taking ODAAT as usual.

All the best mate

MW

Day 383

Hey mate, good to hear from you again.

Went to GA last night and i'm better for it today.

However, couldn't help but get slightly hacked off by a comment made from a fellow member.

Sometimes i feel people like to pontificate about their recovery and they get ever so judgemental.

One size does not fit all in recovery-this has been posted on this forum many a time.

I would never judge anyone, and so, don't expect to be judged.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend

Day 388

Bear and MW, thanks for your posts.

i am more positive now about my recovery but do get down from time to time-i guess this is natural.

Having support from my partner is key. Blocks are in place too which helps.

I think Blues posted one time on my diary, that if we were giving up f**s or booze, all our friends and family would be congratulating us-because gambling is a secretive addiction , not many people know about it (our shame?, our guilt?) and so are not involved with the recovery side of it.

Does this make sense?-still toiling with man-flu so not 100% clear in the head !!!!

Gazza.

Recovery for me should be something to celebrate, it is life changing.

for me I used thew fact that I told everyone I knew about my addiction as another one of those valuable blocks, the more folk that knew was a way to distance myself from that bet.

The first one the one that will set off the road to destruction once again.

Get well soon my man!! the chocolate fest is upon us!!

duncs stepping forward never back.
