Day 61

Thanks for your post NM.

It was pretty hard going at my GA meeting last night but the recovery story was valuable to hear.

Always seems that my partner and i have a stressful time towards the end of the week-i go to the meeting and she's left at home with the kids.

I feel huge guilt over this. I come home feeling more positive but she's been left at home worrying about where i am(trust thing again) and about our finances.

Also, usually get something from the bank on a Fri or Sat-again this sets the alarm bells ringing for her.

Wish we could catch a break on move on with some positivity.

I was warned that initially it's a roller-coaster for our loved ones as we move on with our recovery.

Hope everyone is well

Well done on been 61 days free. To be honest your GA meetings are the source of your families happiness. You gamble free means a happy family so you should not be worrying. As for money worries they will get sorted don't worry about them nothing you can do. They will not get any worse if your not gambling. It is nice to see people enjoying their recovery.

I agree,

The short, sharp posts which show normality in the life of a CG are always a pleasant to read.

They really show what life really is like when we don't gamble.

So why gamble?!

Day 67

Thursdays always seem to present problems, not of a gambling nature but in other ways.

I attend my GA meetings on a Thursday, don't know if that changes my mind-set?

Hopefully today will be different.

Sad to hear that some members are having difficulties. It should remind us that we need to stay focussed.

I use Duncs "No Money, no gambling " to push further away, the thought of gambling. I read somewhere on this forum that we need to reprogramme our brain and behaviour, one day at a time.

Ok that's it,

Hope everyone has a good day

hi gazza12,

well done for your 67 days bet free.glad that you attend ga meetings i m doing the same here in athens where i live.like the phrase 'we need to reprogramme our brain and behaviour, one day at a time.'

one day at a time.every day we must wake up and say what a wondeful day it is because i wont gamble!lets forget about the past.forget about tmrw.small tasks.

my councellor always tells me to put small tasks.not longterm goals.

for example my next task is 50 days, i m 32 days now, its a quite easy task but it doesnt matter, its a success.first reaching the 50 days and then reprogramme as you said my brain for another task.thats the key to success.

i m in debt but i dont mind too much, debts are there.period.every month i pay them back.sometime in the future if i m ok i ll fully pay them back.its not the end of the world.

take care my friend

mike
