Thankyou for visiting my diary Annie. So pleased your getting your life back, enjoying work, family holiday, joining a running club to socialise and keep fit. It's really good how you are leaving that horrible gambling in the past where it belongs. ' Turn your face to the sun and let the shadows fall behind you.' ....stephen

Dear diary

Thanks for your post Stephen, i always appreciate your wonderful support, your mantras and quotes are fab ,you really have a way with words.

Still going.... day 83 , cant quite believe how fast the time has gone. Im getting a bit nervous as i approach 100 days as day 121 is where i relapsed last time, this time does feel different as i have put everything in place as a block and started to address the reasons why i gambled, moreimportantly the desire to gamble is not there this time but i guess you always have to stay on guard. I dont ever want to go back to that dark place again.

Hope everyone is doing ok although im not on here a lot i always think about the many different people who continue to support me and eachother.

Hi Annie,

Thanks for your comments and I am pleased to read your recovery continues. Addressing the reasons why I gambled was huge for me and I hope the same goes for you. The days pile up quickly and you will soon be in the century club. 121 days was good going before and don't let your relapses define you. It appears you have more tools this time add to that the desire to quit and you have every chance of success in the battle against the illness.

I wish you all the very best.

Matt

Dear diary ... well im still going , havent logged in for a while but pleased to say im still abstaining! I was surprised that i am on day 97 time has gone so fast now im actually filling it with worthwhile stuff! Im tackling the debts and managed to pay almost 2k off since this journey began. Im starting to feel nervous now as day 100 is so close.

Matt ,thanks for your post, dealing with why i gambled in the first place has really helped me- thank you for the advice, i hope you are doing well, you are the perfect example how things can be turned around and your story is very inspiring.

Stephen, thanks as usual for your post and kind thoughts, you have been a great support whilst also on your own journey.i hope you are keeping well.

Well till next time , hope everyone stays strong. I will continue with the mantra ''one day at a time"

Annie x

Dear Diary

First of all .. wow time is going so fast i logged in not expecting 153 days!!! I have been so busy with work and family life that i havent logged on for a while but im pleased to report im still gamble free, the longest period of time in 3 years. I have been carefully chipping away at the thousands of pounds worrh of debt i created through my addiction and it doesnt seem so much of a mountain anymore.i unfortunayely suffered a bereavement recently something thatwould have usually sent me to my gambling comfort blanket, im pleased to say i didnt even think about it once.

starting out on this journey is difficult and something i thought i would never be able to stick with, coming on this forum and listening to others and supporting one another really helped me, especially reading success stories.I know i have a long long long way to go but for today i am gamble free and happy.

hope everyone is well and continued luck on your gf journeys

Annie x

Thank you Wai,it's great to hear from you, I've posted on your diary.
Wow day 209 !!! I can't quite believe it, I really didn't think I would get further than a couple of months after feeling like I was constantly going round in circles. For me this journey has been about picking myself up, getting to know who I really am and what I like again after gambling completely took over my life. I appreciate everyone in my life so much nowadays and can not believe how selfish I became as a gambler. I know I have a long long way to go but for today I am gamble free. For the many people who have supported me on here may you continue to be strong and be kind to yourself. For anyone new on here never give up on giving up.take care ,Annie x

Hi everyone

Just logged in to update my diary , pleased to report that I’m still GF and filling my days with more meaningful things than gambling. Can’t believe I have made it so far , I was in such a mess this time last year going round in circles and hardly sleeping due to my accumulated debt. I still have a long long way to go but I’ve managed to pay off 27k in almost a year , through hardly spending anything and taking on a second job,the fog has started to lift. If I can do this anyone can and those are not empty words. Good luck and continued strength to everyone xx

Hi Annie_25,

huge congratulations on your recovery journey so far.

Keep up the good work and keep looking after yourself. Hopefully you will now allow yourself a bit of spending, restricting yourself too much for too long can become a problem.

All the very best,

Eva
