Back on day 1 before I make myself ill. Never in my life did I think gambling would affect me so bad. It makes your mood change so much. When winning on top of the world. When losing its mind wrenching. I have been struggling since 18 and now 36. I need to grow up instead of chasing my life away. I have so much good in my life. If I continue gambling I risk losing everything I have wished for. Last night when losing it was like a relief and was wanting to break free. There isn’t a truer word said. When the fun stops stop

Hello and welcome. This is a great place to start, lots of support from people in the same boat.

Just keep coming back 🙂 the worst mistake I have made in the past is to stop actively engaging with my recovery.

Good luck

Back on day 1 had a relapse for a few days. Absolutely disgusted with myself and my mood. I have been here so many times and this time i need to do it for good. My girlfriend is the most amazing supportive person I could ever have hoped for in life. All my stress is caused through gambling. I don’t keep the greatest of health and gambling is a major factor in it. Here is to day one. Going to stay on the website every day. It helps in every way. Here is to day 1 and a gamble free future. Any support is much appreciated thanks

feeling positive for day 1 GF. I can’t change my actions from the past but something I can do is try to repair the cracks for the future. I am a compulsive gambler and don’t know when to stop. This means I will never win.

Well into day 1, not had any real urges. Just staying focused an determined is the key. Not looking at any sport or what the prices are. Just watch a game or get into ready and keeping myself active an not having time to think about gambling. GF is a better future

Day 2 GF, staying positive. Going to keep busy. Keep up dating on this and keep away from seeing any source of betting or prices. The urges haven’t been that bad. I don’t find a problem stopping it’s being scared of that next bet. Being a compulsive gambler. It’s not how much you lose it’s giving in and having that next bet as you know yourself you can’t control it

Day 3 GF. Been keeping really busy. Not focusing on sport to much. Defo staying away from checking prices or that. Temptation is a big thing. A few weeks down the line and I will have lost track of the racing form and won’t be looking out for horses next time they run. Feeling positive. Off to London for a few days with work. So will keep focused on a GF live ahead. Have a good day guys. Stay strong I’m focused on a bright GF FUTURE

On day 5 GF. Feeling positive and staying focused. Been keeping busy and show no interest in gambling. Was away to London for a few days. If I had been gambling I am sure my spend would have been so much more. Keeping myself busy today and getting in with more painting. The sun is shining an here is to an GF day

Hi Ally,

Firstly well done on not giving up on giving up. im not going to tell you what to do you have all the standard advise over the years so i'll ask you few questions have a think about them and answer them honestley and you might find it helps you,

What consequence do you have if you gamble? What will it cost you?

What are you doing different this time?

Have you tried having counselling and/or GA?

Are you doing this alone or does your partner know the extent of your gambling addiction?

How did you gamble last time? is there a way to close of that route to gambling?

What measure/blocks have you put in place already?

Are you doing everything you can possibly do to help stop gambling?

I hope it helps, its not easy stopping but it is worth it, you know that over the years youve had some good runs where things get better.

KTF

On day 6 GF. Saturdays used to be a big day for me. Loads of racing on. Loads of football and so much more sport. I am a compulsive gambler and cannot gamble as I don’t know when to stop. The sun is shinning and got loads of things to achieve. Instead of being stuck on my phone betting all day. GF for brighter day an a better future. Stay strong folks. You are only one bet away again for destruction.
