Good Afternoon
Day 0 of being gamble free, and I’ve decided to keep a daily diary to hopefully stop the urges of having a gamble. I’m sure it is not going to be a smooth road but I will not let this beat me.
I have work in a couple of hours so won’t have any access until tomorrow morning but I am determined to do this for me and my family. I posted in the new members forum today and free time is my biggest challenge, I need to find some hobbies to accommodate my free time.
This is the start of the long road to a happier and better me and I am not going to let myself down or my family!
If any one has any advice on what works for them I would be grateful.
Thanks
Hi,
Today is day 100 for me gamble free. Like you, having so much free time I gambled because I was bored. I had to come up with ways to keep busy, i go gym 3 times a week now and see friends more often.
I started my first diary 100 days ago and it has helped a lot. It has kept me on track, updating a diary everyday has given me something to focus on and see how much better life is without this addiction.
I ordered a new debit card 100 days ago and my girlfriend took note of my security code on the back then scratched it off. I dont use my debit card much online, it was mainly for gambling before so it has helped a lot not being able to depsoit online anymore, it has helped me get used to gamble free life.
I still have urges every now and then, but that is all it is now, i think about having a gamble then realise i cant and remember how much happier i am so them urges dissapear.
Good luck
