Ouch! Just spent £280.00 in the bookies on a slot on a FOBT, no financial damage done somehow but I feel that usual sickness and what could I have done with £280.00, I am going to start again and brush myself down, not feel sorry for myself and go for a run in the country tonight to clear my head. Onwards and upwards. Hey yo

Hey yo,

You are contradicting yourself my friend, you still have the mind of an active gambler, you are still in the grip of this dangerous addiction.

You said at the beginning of this month that you are 11000 in debt, then you say today no financial damage, today, WHAT, this addiction is talking to you, it tells lies, it will totally contradict what you are saying. and the financial damage is nothing compared to the mental damage.

This is your choice do you want to stop, if you do you will commit 100% to your recovery, you have doors wide open everywhere my friend,

You are asking yourself will this ever stop, yes it will, but you have to make that choice to stop yourself,

CGs cannot control any form of gambling, but we can control our recoveries it's our choice.

Take care

Suzanne xx

Dan is right. This isn't a joke anymore. It took Dan posting some home truths on my page for me to realise a few things. Good luck with recovery but you need to try harder and have barriers in place to make both of your lapses impossible... a withdrawal limit would work for the first and blocking software would work for the second. It is a huge leap to do both of those things as they will prevent gambling but taking the leap will mean you're serious about this.

Many thanks for the above. It's up to me. Yep that was a stupid comment about no financial damage done. Really stupid. I will get barriers in place and return here to update when I've done these. Onwards I guess. Did manage a run tonight!

Some blocks going in place today. Removing wifi from phone at work. Photos and excluding from the last bookie I left open by work. The silly comment about no financial damage meant I haven't added to my debt, silly comment I guess. Day 1 here we go!!! Excited to try again again. Harsh comments needed. Cheers.
