There's a programme on tonight - Britain at the bookies. BBC1 at 9pm. Don't know much about it but it may prove interesting...

Not sure it could be called good PR for the company involved. Just highlighted a sleazy industry propped up by lots of desperate people.

i watched it , apparently one shop made no money what so ever , find that hard to belive as only pay the staff minimum wage and hardly have heavy stock levels , but i thought it was alright as bbc are neutral; , some interesting points FOTB and roullette in particular makes up 70% of there income , WOW

to be fair the guy they followed around looked broken too me , they followed him winning a bit on FOTB and carrying on then spent every bit of winnings and rest in his pocket and now has 2 weeks to live off £4 until his next welfare check ,think there a real problem with vulnerable mentally ill patients on high level of benifit support ploughing all there money into machines and have nothing and no support to live on increasing there problems and health and bookie staff have no training or care to see if they should not be in there or the ability to self exclude , thousands of poor sods , its bad enouh all us battling addiction let alone with mental health problems
