Hi all

My husband is doing well, gamble free for 3+ years now which is great. He’s also consistent with GA which is good. I still regularly check his bank accounts and credit reports for my own peace of mind - he gets this.
Yesterday, a company purchasing card was sent to him. I know companies have blocks in place to prevent gambling transactions. But i can’t help but worry. He never had a credit card since he stopped gambling nor will i be comfortable of him ever having one. Not sure what to do 🙁

I don't think it's possible to use credit cards to gamble anymore. The gambling commission got the law changed a few years back to prevent problem gamblers racking up huge debts on credit cards.

Thanks Oranje. I guess i was worried because i didn’t know if company purchasing cards work same way as a debit card. I did a bit of googling though and it looks like it has a tight control within the workplace. I sometimes feel guilty that I overthink these things but I just remind myself it’s better to be like this than be complacent.

I agree, you're doing really well to stay on top of it all and protect your family. I put lots of measures in place but found it's still possible to get around the blocks and checks. PayPal is one to stay on top of as many online casinos accept PayPal transactions

@oranje01 exactly, if the compulsive gambler is determined to gamble they will find a way so these protective measures are just to support them. They need to lead their recovery. Thank you for the heads up re paypal.
