Still over 45k of debt to pay. I know I will always be classed as an addict but I really do feel that this final attempt of beating this is going to work. I have no desire to want to gamble and my mind is focused on clearing my debt and becoming debt free.Â
The pain of what I have done over the last 10 years of 250k losses is ridiculous and I must complete the task of clearing this debt. For me in recovery, it isn’t about missing having a bet but the internal hurt and disgust of creating so much debt for myself.Â

Hi mate amazing achievement am on day 699 getting close to 700 mark i still have regrets has i do have a new interests involving money i still think if i stopped sooner i could have done alot more things however i need to stay motivated as it can lead to a temptation again fortunately i havent had any urges and living each day as it comes i am greatful to even have this life as i can see the benefits and changes by simply not placing a bet as i come on here regulary and using chatrooms i feel it keeping me away from relapsing as now i do have a motive and interests and it can easily backfire on me however i cannot as for anything more as i do need to appreciate how far i have come which if dint push myself to come on here i would have taken it for granted

I totally hear ya! I’ve spent/ lost around the same amount of money albeit more over 20 years than 10 but it hurts like hell!
The fact that from £250k losses all you have left to pay back is £45k is pretty incredible you e done amazingly well to kick the habit and sound strong in your resilience of going back to that destructive life. I’m only on Day 9 (never gone past 18 days GF in 20+ years). I can only dream of making it to 115 days.
you should be very proud of what you have managed to achieve.
