I have gambled approximately £3000 down the drain over a few weeks, the pressure to pay holiday off and wanting home improvements along with general boredom at home. I got such a buzz but obviously when your down you chase it and it spiraled quickly, I've done this three times before over a seven year period, I've stopped for the years in between, it seems to be an impulsive burst now and then. Since my wife has again found out I want her to regulate my account, fully transparent, just on a small scale, she's insisting on me going cold turkey and I'm resenting her for it, even though I know she has every right to request that, she has taken my card, changed accounts so I can't gamble even if I wanted to (which I do) any allowance I'm allowed from disposable income must not go on gambling, am I being unreasonable with my solution for her to oversee it?
Hi mate i was the same a few years back i wanted to cut down on gambling the truth is i could never control it a none addict will lose what ever and cut their losses me on the other would started placing bigger bets until my balence became 0, now the Q is has it stands your not ready to quit my advise to you do not under estimate this addiction i too was fine and was able to take the winnings the issue i had i couldnt stop on a chase and even with the winnings most of it went back into gambling so their was virtually no beneft i did enjoy gambling to begin with until i started lossing pay check to pay check and it wasent fun anymore you are in a fortunate situation alot of people have lost their family to this illness, is it really worth it?
