@m069zrtj7a They are UK regulated gambling companies with numerous websites.

You will need to Google search them individually to find the contact details.  It is probably not best to ask for specific casino names here as this is a forum to support those desperately trying to give up gambling.

Either your daughter has been opening accounts with online casino's or someoneelse has been using her details.

Odd though as if someone was to open an account with her details they would have to use a payment method in her name and have access to her ID and probably bank statements.

A UK based casino would want verification at some point or whoever it was that was using her details would lose the deposits and winnings.  So it's a pretty dumb thing for ID fraudster to do with little or no benefit.

I would be asking if  anyone close to her with access to her ID have a potential gambling issue?

Her boyfriend has done it he's a complusive gambler what we cannot work out is how he's done it using his bank details and his own email address but used her driving licence and address date of birth. I am trying to get him for ID theft as he took her ID from her bag amd he's admitted it but these searches he say he didn't do as he said he stopped gamblering at that time, which we know he didn't as he was seen walking in a bookies. So I'm livid that he's done this to my daughter.i just cannot work put what sites they will be

It is possible that he used her details and then used his bank to deposit and he could use any email address he wanted.  But this is a very stupid thing to do as he would have to prove to the casino that the bank account was in her name at some point.  Or they would breach money laundering regulations.

I think it just shows how desperate he is to gamble.  It is obviously an abuse of trust but his brain will be looking for any avenue to gamble.  He is willing to gamble even using false details that may mean he won't be able to access the winnings.

I understand that you want to protect your daughter but I think that getting him done for ID theft is a massive longshot as bad as it is as a breach of trust.  He used his bank account not hers.  Not that I am in anyway justifying him.

Many companies run soft credit checks when applying for a loan, phone or insurance whether you take the product or not.

You are on friends and family part of the site.  I'm just thinking that lots of problem gamblers will be reading this as well and a list of casinos could be quite triggering for some.

Sorry for the situation you find yourself in.  All the best in supporting your daughter 🙏

Hi pickle

you are on f&f

these are gambling online companies, could be any site and type of gambling. They have been fined £6M for social responsibility and anti money laundering failings.

basically not stopping people from gambling money they don’t have plus proper checks.

when transactions go through on statements it just uses ‘umbrella’ company name so it’s not specific.

these companies only use bank numbers not necessarily the name on the account.

totally unscrupulous companies who don’t care whose gambling or where the money comes from.

National debt line have info about this type of fraud.

They are a free charity and will help.

its saying contact the bank and report to police.

Thank you so the ID would only be asked for if they wanted to access any winnings is that correct ? Or is it asked for before opening tje account. He's done numerous other things with money with my daughter so I'm just worried what he is going to do next.

When you sign up for an online casino account they will run your name, dob and address through an electronic register to make sure your exist.  This is the way the companies 1st verifiy you.  This is a legal requirement.

If they can't find you on the register (your details are incorrect or don't exist) they will ask you to send in ID to prove you exist.

There were issues with UK casinos verifying players electronicly and allowing players to deposit but then withholding any withdrawals untill they receive further ID verification.  They would do this to make it easy to deposit and lose with them, but harder to win as they would make you jump through hurdles tonget the winnings.

In 2021/2022 (I can't remember exactly) The regulator introduced a new law that casinos could not demand further verification as a condition of withdrawing if they could have requested this earlier.  Casinos hated this as it made it easier for customers to withdraw.

While happily I don't currently know the state of affairs with this as I'm not gambling, I do think that casinos will still demand ID verification if over a certain amount is withdrawn.  Also most casinos will want ID and full verification within the 1st month and may limit play and deposits if the players has only been electronically verified.

Basically it is a dumb thing to use someone elses details.  Not only is it ID theft but at some point the casino will want to verify you properly with ID so they dont get in trouble for breaking money laundering regs.

Does your daughter have any intention of gambling?  If not, It maybe worth her signing up with gamstop so her details can't be used to register any accounts with online gambling for a period of time of her choosing.

It being a soft search won't effect her credit rating.   I don't know about the legal issues around ID theft and this case personally.
