Hello, new to this so if this question is already answered please point me in right direction. My partner is a problem gambler, we are trying to move forward with counselling and open finances but I need some advice. He is happy for me to see/have control of all bank accounts but what do I need to have in place to make sure I can see everything (i.e. Credit rating, New accounts, credit cards etc). I say he is happy for me to have control but at the end of the day he still has a problem so cannot be 100% trusted with money. Thanks all, any advice appreciated X

Hi Sarah

This article from the Money Advice Service explains how to access credit reports, including services that allow you to see your credit report free: https://www.moneyadviceservice.org.uk/en/articles/how-to-check-your-credit-report

Credit reports show every account with a credit facility, including payday loans.

I'm sure forum users will be along to give you suggestions based on their experiences.

Best wishes

As an addict, i am in recovery but I am not recovered. I wouldn't want to be trusted 100% again. I need to make sure I keep up my recovery tools such as meetings, recovery work, banning myself from gambling establishments and being honest with those around me.

Keeping a recovery diary on here is very important - not just for myself but for those around me.

Don't ever think this problem completely goes away but it can ease. Tri
