Hi All,

About 14 months ago my wife told me she had been gambling and lost our savings, everything and there wasnt a penny left to put food on the table for our kids. As I do, I sorted it out and found the money in the short term to get us through, she promised she would never gamble again and I believed her. 2 months ago she started behaving strange and mood swings, I asked her if she was gambling she denied it, eventually she confessed she had 1 bet, hadnt done in ages and wouldnt again. The mood swings continued and I eventually accessed her online gambling account where I found out the truth, she had never stopped and was losing money, I still dont know where the money has come from as I do not allow her access to what is now my savings account or my business account. I printed off the evidence and tried to sit her down and talk rationally about her problem and how we can try and solve it together for the good of her, me and our children. She went mental, ripped up the evidence and threw it at me, told me she didnt love me and never had and then basically kicked me out of our home. I left for the sake of the kids as they dont need to see us tearing emotional lumps out of each other and constantly arguing. I hoped that a few days to let her cool down and reflect on the fact I know for sure what she has been doing might help her open up and accept the truth, nothing and its now been weeks. Im concerned about my kids and want them with me but I can only afford a bedsit as I try to meet the bills/mortgage/rent on 2 properties so can offer them no bedroom etc. Should I seek legal advice, what is my legal position, can I try and get custody and move my wife from the marital home? I just worry that she is so volatile at the moment that if she thinks Im trying for custody she will run a mile and take the kids with her. Just dont know what to do
