Hi guys,

My name is Adrian, so this is my first post. First of all i am sorry if i will not have a propper spelling.

I have 10+ years history of this gambling problem, and i think i need to stop this because it kills me inside. I allway said i will stop, but i aint got the straight, wont make a diference to play 10pounds. and from that 10 pounds i will lose all my money because it will take my mind and i will not be focus on nothing else just gambling.

First step was registering gamstop and i change my limits on online casinos to minimum.

I tried to stay busy and i asked my manager at work for extra hours, just to be tierd when i get home and go directly to sleep, and maybe i will se how much effort it takes to make every penny in my poket.

Thanks,

Have a good one.

You sound a little bit like me a few years ago.

The overtime was a great way to hide my losses. It did kill me, some months I used to do 50-90 hours extra a month and I could blow that in one day.

If you want to gamble, nothing will stop you, you will rationalise it bby thining you've earnd more so it won't be too bad to have a go...

I think you need to write down when you gamble, and what triggers that gambling session. You can then develop a plan to reduce that. For me, I get caught out when I walk past a bookies, I have restricted my cash and it has helped a lot as I can't be tempted.

You also need to make sure you look after yourself. Mot gabler on here, are too hard on themselves, and that inveviably leads to falling off the wagon.

Hi adriansam,

I think you meant to contact Gamstop rather than GamCare, if you give them a call on 0800 138 6518 they should be able to advise.

Warm regards

Hi,

Unfortunately i did not stop gambling, it's so sad that i realy want to do this, but after 3-4 weeks without gambling, in some boring moments, i say ok i'll go just for a beer and bet 10 pounds, it happends to win, 100-200 pounds most of the time, but after that i come again in the next few days and lose all my money. it's the same story every time. i don't know how to stop it, it's so hard for me, i don't know what to do
