Well first of all, I suppose I'm putting this in the wrong section of the forum, as I am not a new member.

I first joined this site in 2011, when gambling almost cost me my job. After a few days on here and starting a recovery diary, gambling took hold and I stopped posting.

I re-registered again around this time last year, determined to beat the addiction once and for all. I lasted a bit longer (almost 2 weeks) before gambling once again reared its ugly head and sucked me into the abyss.

Well, as the saying goes, "third times a charm". This will be my third "fresh start" and hopefully the last. I am determined more than over to beat this evil addiction (and I'm not being overdramatic there).

Some of you may remember me from before, but I was feeling really upbeat about 2013, and had a lot of plans. Fast forward to New Year's Eve, and things are worse than ever.

My financial situation is still the same, ie no money, and the occasional dark thoughts I had before have become full-blown living nightmares. I'm living a more and more reclusive lifestyle, and am even distancing myself from my family more than ever.

I've already blown my December wage packet, leaving me with barely enough money to scrape by until payday on 24th Jan . I do have some expenses coming up, such as car tax renewal, passport renewal and a car service (I'm paranoid that something will go wrong with my car, I suppose I have the gambling addiction to thank for that).

I will be starting a new recovery dairy tomorrow (a good a time as any) and will continue to post my thoughts/musings/ramblings for the forseeable future.

Apologies in advance if this post seems a little blase, but I have been stuck in the same rut for 6 years and need to approach things from a different angle.

2014 will be a good year, I'll see to it!

Stay strong with the commitment this year! Same goes for everyone else (and myself). Hopefully we can all beat this thing. I keep wanting to say good luck but don't to want to use the word luck.
