You're doing the right thing. Keeping calm and thinking logically, more gambling will only make the problem worse. £4,000 is a lot of money, but not the end of the world. Careful saving and earning extra where posible will make the debt disapier very fast. Normally we end up keeping those savy skills and build up saving fast.

Hi Alexs

Thanks for taking the time to post on my thread. You're right it is a horrible addiction. For me it esculated fairly rapidly at first money wasn't so easy to come by as it is now when I was at my worst. There were no payday loans or credit cards for people with bad credit, I turned to crime. Bloody ridiculous when you think of it. Stole and cheated just to see if my lucky numbers would come in. Lol I'm pleased that was then, in the past.

The one thing I have learnt is that ongoing support is a must, whether that means posting here or going to GA. For the first time in my life I have just gone a full year without any sort of gambling, the last ten years should be used as a harsh leason Alex. Your debt is managable for the time being, but of course the more you pay, the less you owe so it becomes more managable.

All things take time. It took me a long time to accept that. Patience is a virtue, that comes hard to a CG, I think.

Keep plodding on one day at a time, what is done is done.

Take care.

Geordie.
