I just wanted to share with you all that as of today I am 500 days gamble free.

I really do feel like a completly different person to the man who first came onto this site all those months ago. At the time I was a complete mess and couldn't see a light at the end of the tunnel. The idea of quitting gambling for good seemed an impossible dream, at the time I had been gambling for nearly 20 years.

500 days later and my life is so much better without the nightmare that is gambling in my life. Debts are all paid off and I have just treated myself to a brand new car out of the money I have saved from gambling. This is something I would never have been able to do without quitting that destructive habit.

It certainly hasn't been easy but then again nothing that is worthwhile ever is. If you are thinking of quitting I implore you to try, what have you got to lose?

Wishing you all the best

Silver

Thanks for the comments guys. Ineffable apart from the usual like putting your block's in place I would say that the most helpful thing for me was distracting myself. The main time I used to gamble was on my lunch break and after work, so I bought myself a mountain bike and went out on it during those times. Doing something to take my mind off the gambling really helped plus it broke the habit of gambling at these times. Within a few weeks I realised that I was thinking about gambling less and less. Hope that is of some help to you.

All the best

Silver
