I have a severe gambling addiction which I can't control. I have been gambling since I was 16 mainly on pub slot machines. The last 8 years it has gone online and since I have self excluded myself online iv started in bookies mainly slot machines. I am now 46 have a 2 and a half year old son and a wife of 4 years who is amazingly supportive. Thought I was in control till about 4 weeks ago and just blew 800 tottally zoned out in bookies scared the hell out of me lucky to have left with any money in account. Partner has taken control of finances but feel guilty as hell ruined christmas. Lucky we had seperate accounts and my savings are in her name. The machines in bookies should be supervised there worse than crack C*****e, you can spot the addicts straight away the managers know who they are and do nothing, its almost impossible to do a blanket self exclusion I am an adult but addiction is real !!!!!

Feel your pain. My story is the same as yours. I would suggest you try and stop now before your wife gets unsupportive. I have lost 2 partners through gambling. Concentrate on your family, put all your energy into them. They will get you through the dark times. Stay strong my friend.
Hi Patrogue your story is familiar to mine! Agree that FTOBS are shocking and we should receive support from the shops! However the sooner you accept that these machines are there to make millions for bookmakers and for no other reason. I have lost plenty and currently I have accepted that playing these are killing me, so I am thinking it’s great I am now alive! Rather than thinking they are a comfort. Stop killing yourself and live life with your family
