HiÂ
Last week I managed to waste 2k on slots in five days! Luckily I am not in any debt but have burned through 75% of my savings, and I realised all of it would be gone soon if I didn't stop. Boredom always causes intense urges to gamble so I've managed these times by reading other peoples stories on here. I just wanted to thank all the posters as they have really helped me. If I can get through the rest of today I'll have done a week, prior to this have only managed two days
Made the whole week. One day at a timeÂ
A massive well done for going a week without gambling. Have you put in place blocks like gamstop to remove the temptation? If you haven't already I would get on to this. I know if I didn't have these in place I would have crumbled long before now.Â
Hi
Â
Thank you so much for your reply. I have got all the blocks in place, my bank blocks transactions gambling related, gam ban on all devices and gamstop. I am so weak atm I feel I need this or I will gamble. As I write this, listening to yet another casino advert on TV. I get emails and texts all the time offering free spins and bonuses aaargh they just try to draw you back in. How are you doing on your gf journey?

HiÂ
Â
Thanks for replying. Day nine and still going strong. Huge congratulations to you on your achievement, I've found this harder to quit than smoking and drinking, and I definitely have an addictive personality! I have found reading peoples stories on here very helpful, and also having to check in daily with my supporter, I don't want to let her down! Keep up the good workÂ

Thank you Webber. I have decided to keep a recovery diary on here, I think it will really help. Keep up the difficult but very rewarding fight. We have got this!Â
I stopped some time in February and haven't gambled since. I'm in the 5 year Gamban. I've never really felt at ease in a bookies so I'm not overly worried I'll stumble into one some time. I don't miss slots but I do miss putting on football and horses but I can't do that anymore. At least I can enjoy watching the game without my mind clicking into gambling mode.
I still have urges but I come on here when I do, it helps massively. I even still have the odd dream, the other night I dreamt I won 250k on a slot, absolute nonsense but it felt real until I woke up.
Keep going my friend. A hobby is a great shout. I read books, lots of books. Anything to take your mind off things. Once you get a few months in you will feel so much better. Keep things blocked. Make access to money hard and you will get better. You got this 💪
