Hi

Last week I managed to waste 2k on slots in five days! Luckily I am not in any debt but have burned through 75% of my savings, and I realised all of it would be gone soon if I didn't stop. Boredom always causes intense urges to gamble so I've managed these times by reading other peoples stories on here. I just wanted to thank all the posters as they have really helped me. If I can get through the rest of today I'll have done a week, prior to this have only managed two days

A massive well done for going a week without gambling. Have you put in place blocks like gamstop to remove the temptation? If you haven't already I would get on to this. I know if I didn't have these in place I would have crumbled long before now.

Hi

Thank you so much for your reply. I have got all the blocks in place, my bank blocks transactions gambling related, gam ban on all devices and gamstop. I am so weak atm I feel I need this or I will gamble. As I write this, listening to yet another casino advert on TV. I get emails and texts all the time offering free spins and bonuses aaargh they just try to draw you back in. How are you doing on your gf journey?

Hi

Thanks for replying. Day nine and still going strong. Huge congratulations to you on your achievement, I've found this harder to quit than smoking and drinking, and I definitely have an addictive personality! I have found reading peoples stories on here very helpful, and also having to check in daily with my supporter, I don't want to let her down! Keep up the good work

Thank you Webber. I have decided to keep a recovery diary on here, I think it will really help. Keep up the difficult but very rewarding fight. We have got this!
