I lost another £1000 and realised i couldnt control myself so i asked them to close the account, the VIP manager acknowledge that i asked to close the account but left it open i lost £20000 last night and now i feel down and just want to do something stupid to myself, wish they closed the account like i asked them to I would still have the £20k. they should have closed it and not ignored my request ? Is there anyway i could get the money back ? also i need help i can't carry on like this its destroying my life im starting to get into debt now and close myself off from everyone.
Hi jet, I don't know anything about online accounts so can't help there, but if you are ready to stop gambling you need to get support. Why don't you contact Gam care and see if they can get you some counselling sorted. Look up your local GA and see where they have meetings and when, and get yourself along. You will find others with the same addiction who will support and advise you. You do not have to face this alone. Best wishes.
Hello jrt,
Are you talking with your GP about your depressed mood? Elsewhere on the forum you've mentioned your history with self-harming. Please allow your local NHS to support you through this challenging time. You've posted that you 'Feel down and want to do something stupid' to yourself. If you are struggling with impulses to self-harm then please use specialist support to help you to stay safe.

You've mentioned closing and re-opening your gambling account; it may be more effective to self-exclude and then to install blocking software.

As Rhoda has said, please do consider using local therapeutic support for your well-being and recovery.

Hi Jrt.
Please take the fight on and reach for the born again moment. You are at a very confused stage of just starting to realise you will have to do something to really stop.
Indeed the very reason you may have been gambling is that you are depressed and jaded with life.
You need to STOP completely and get past the stage where you just want to stop losing. You are still searching for your money back. You gave it to the gambing dens...its gone. That was the deal when you placed the chips down under the addicted delusion that its a money earning scheme. The addiction clouds your view and you are not yet seeing gambling for what it is.
Please ring gamcare as many times as you like as you need the one to one voice.
Please wake up strong and start self excluding. You do need help so well done for admitting that. There is no shame in asking for help. You need serious help and serious blocking measures.
There is life without gambling and a normal life is wonderful. You have been sucked into something which was destroying you.
Tell them you dont want to gamble anymore and get properly excluded. Get your health, pride and self respect back!
Best wishes from everyone on the forum
