So It’s 5am, just picked up my phone now only to find that I have been paid earlier for some extra work I have been doing to pay off my debt. I survived my last proper payday not gambling. Is payday/happy day a trigger for me? I haven’t really thought about this but it’s oozing all over my body right now and I know the devil is around, but no way, I am not going to give in, I am not going back to day1.

Keep strong frogman. Laugh in the face of your addiction it will run back into the shadows. You're doing really well . Are you feeling more stable? Less strung out I know i am and it's really good

Yes doing good ty . All blocks in place. Hubby doing the finances. Having the counselling sessions. And I really am now after stopping seeing gambling for the evil that it is and that addiction is lifelong and that this addiction as you know will always be trying to trip you up. But I do think it we stay vigilant and notice the small things that trigger us before they develop into things that before would send us into a crazy spiral we can keep a lid on this. Even the adverts are not giving me the same feelings at the start it was all I could do not to throw the remote through the tv !!

Hope you managed to stay gamble free on payday. I have always found that the hardest. Still gamble free since 22nd May after over 30 years. Every time I think of gambling I just think of all those bad days of chasing losses or aiming to win more, but quickly put it back, but always stuck in that same zone all day and always losing most during that first week of getting paid. Have even started gambling in my dreams. The devil stays around and finds many ways to trick you. Stay strong everyone.

Sounds cliche but take every days as it comes, I went 4/5 months in thinking I was fine then suddenly a urgh came back to gamble and was tempted rather than letting the addiction win against me I told my family and they helped take me away from this.

The crucial thing I found was communication and not letting shame or embarresment stop you from asking for help
