Hello everyone,
A bit about why im here. Well it started with a one off trip to a casino a place I had never been and was introduced to roulette. After an hour or so walked out £300 better off and hooked! That was last summer, fast forward to Jan this year and I moved online and would you believe it I won over £9000 playing live dealer roulette. Now 3 months later im here today after losing £2500 this weekend alone. Ive self excluded from all my accounts and cut up the credit cards but i just feel so stupid i dont want to lose everything ive worked for chasing easy money. I know the casinos always win just can't fathom why ive done this.
Hey Davey
First of all welcome and nice one for taking the initial steps of stopping gambling.
I know it feels s#!t that you've lost money but at least you've realised early that the bookies and casinos always win. Unfortunately there is no such thing as easy money, especially in the gambling world for a cg.
It's good that you've closed your accounts and credit cards as well as looking for help. This is a good place full of useful tips and help. My tip is use the chat rooms or if it's that bad then go see a councilor. It's good to speak to people and find out you're not alone. Everyone messes up but it's what we do about it is important.
Good luck on your journey and most importantly will power is your best tool!
Thanks so much for your reply. The initial loss wasn't so bad but it the first time ive chased my losses into trouble and just feel sick that i've flung away £1700 today on a roulette wheel in the time it took to drink my coffee. How do you deal with knowing its going to take months to pay back your gambling losses? I wouldn't be so bad if it was my money but its a credit card just feel sick to my stomach.
Yeah I get what you're saying but that's what they want you to do. Chase your money because that's all you'll ever do, chase! There's a reason bookies and casinos are always popping up. It's a real kick in balls and made me feel sick knowing how much I spent and put on my cards too but you've got to realise that the money is gone and the only way is just pay in back out of disposable income that you'll free up from not gambling.
You'll feel sick now but after time you'll look back and realise that you've had a luck escape from the black hole that is gambling.
Yes your right just have to accept the very expensive life lesson. I suppose with gambling the only way to win is to keep your money in your pocket. Thanks again for taking the time to respond.
I like that last one. "Keep your money in your pocket". I still feel a bit sick about my main loss of £1200 in about 30 mins or so. Such a waste but yeah I guess it's an expensive mistake/life lesson. At least I hope I've learnt it now at 19 and that's me done with any serious forms of gambling.
Good luck Davey
