so.... i have finally admitted to myself that i have a problem!! I need help and i need to stop gambling.
Its starting to take over my life and effect my marriage. I have spent so much money on online gambling lost hundreds. Every month i find im borrowing money to put food on the table as i have gambled all my money away. the only thing i seem to make sure i pay is my rent and council tax but we are now paying off a balliff as i got behind on some bills. It scares me that i was so irresponsible my kids could of lost everything they have becuase of my problem.Â

This is just a snippet but im taking the first step to stop the gambling, get our finances back on track and build a better relationship with my husband. Just feel a little lost on where to start. Any advice please on the first steps now ive admitted to myself.
Find healthy and fulfilling activities to replace gambling. Engage in hobbies, exercise, or spend quality time with your family to reduce the urge to gamble.Â
This is my first day of rehabilitation! I’ve finally had enough of torturing myself. Every pay day I purposefully get up early and fleece my account and then borrow money to get me through the month!
I’ve self excluded myself via GameStop yesterday and immediately thought what have I done. I felt empty. Today I feel good and have kept myself busy, taking notice of my work and the kids
im 50 now and I realise I cannot throw time away any more. It’s been 30 yrs of constantly chasing losses
ive tried everything from GA meetings to hypnotherapy. CBT has had the most effect. This has made me think about my triggers such as low self esteem and self worth. I highly recommend this treatment!

Good luck with your journey!
First of all, congratulations on taking the first step and admitting to yourself that you have a problem. That is a big and important step in your recovery journey 😊 . The next step would be to seek professional help . It's also important to inform your family and close friends about your situation 👍 👍 . They can support you and help keep you accountable. In regards to your finances, create a budget and stick to it. Cut out any unnecessary expenses and prioritize paying off your debts. Consider closing any online gambling accounts or setting up gambling blocks with your bank. Remember, recovery is not easy, but it's possible with dedication and support. Take it one day at a time and don't be too hard on yourself. You can do this. 🥂 🙂Â
