Hi all just want to see how you go about getting counselling through gam care?? I've tried GA and although I found it quite helpful talking about my problems it hasn't stopped me gambling I'm at the point where it's time to stop and I'm prepared to do whatever I need to stop. I've self excluded on all gambling websites going into the bookies never been a problem for me but I am thinking of excluding myself from there just in case. Wages going into girlfriends account no and she knows all about my debt problems. Is there any other useful ways people can suggest to help quitting for good?? Replies much appreciated thanks

Hi fufc321

We offer counselling in most areas of England, Scotland and Wales. You can call the helpline or Netline (details at the top of the page) and we can look up your nearest and have them give you a call.

You can also look up a map showing all the counselling agencies we work with. This will show you your nearest, along with their phone number and website if they have one. http://www.gamcare.org.uk/support-and-counselling/face-face-counselling/find-local-counselling

We also offer online counselling via webcam. You can find out more about this at our website: http://www.gamcare.org.uk/support-and-counselling/free-counselling/online-counselling

You can register for the counselling online, or you can contact the Helpline or Netline and we'll put you in touch.

You asked about other useful ways to help you quit - you have self excluded from online accounts, but you may also want to look at methods for blocking yourself from gambling online. You can find out more about these here: http://www.gamcare.org.uk/get-advice/what-can-you-do/blocking-software

If you've any questions at all, please do contact us on the Helpline or Netline.

Best wishes
