Welcome back  muroksl,

Glad you are starting to use the Forum and I am sure you will receive support and encouragement from others.

There is a lot of help there to get you on the road to recovery and glad you have considered counselling.

Just to touch on your question about whether counselling helps. Treatment can work differently for all of us. The process of change is also different for each person, but receiving support is a good way to begin to understand and make lasting changes to harmful gambling behaviour. Counselling will give you the chance to help develop ways of coping with problem gambling behaviour, to help stop or reduce the frequency of gambling and to help cultivate a productive and healthy life without problem gambling.

I appreciate not one size fits all. If you would like to talk about your situation with gambling with our advisers, they are available 24 hours a day on the Helpline (0808 8020 133) and Netline (our webchat service) to listen non-judgmentally and offer support and advice. They can talk you through tools and strategies to help you stop gambling.

Take care,

Vanessa
