Hi everyone!
I have recently been getting involved on the chat and been finding it really positive personally. Lots of lovely people sharing their gambling problems and sharing advice. Going to start writing on my diary on here.

I am currently 5 days gamble free. I need to change and I need help.
Hello,
Well done on your first few days of being gamble free (big achievement!), keep up the good work!!
Si
Yes a big welcome to you NCF - it's Simon50 here from chat.
It's great that you come to the chat room regularly and it's a pleasure to know you. I have found great support here, which has surprised me actually. The surprise is that I have stuck around and have allowed myself to receive support. I am usually so convinced that I am ok on my own; that I don't need others (and others suck anyway) so ultimately I end up leading a pretty lonely life with just red wine and gambling as my friend and partner.
The people in chat are so nice and genuine. They have welcomed me and seem to be a close knit group and a real support to each other. I really wanted that and maybe now I have found it and I am much more open to it. I hope so.
Do keep coming and keep sharing and get everything off your chest. You've been open minded and honest so far which is the best start possible to living with this illness and making a choice on a daily basis not to gamble and to find a better way of thinking and living.
All the best and see you in chat in an hour, Simon.
Hi silee thank you so much for your reply! Hope you are well.

Hi Simon,
Thank you for taking the time to write on my diary, it’s really appreciated! I too am very much like you in the way that I don’t accept no help and often say that I can do it as I am a independent woman (not man, haha!) when deep down I do need the help and support. I’ve really found that the group chat helps me and I’m glad you have found that too.
I enjoy seeing what you have to say in group chat and love how open and how much you communicate in the chat and hope I will reach that point too where I can just talk about anything in there gambling related or not. My anxiety always pulls me away from doing it a little and tells me that no one cares what I have to say. But I am learning that’s not the case.
Look forward to speaking to you in the chat again and hope your mood lifts today.Â
Take care,
