Hi, just joined, my life has literally gone to s##t. The stupid thing is I didn't event think I had a problem. I thought I was gambling because I enjoyed it. But nope, my husband is fed up with me, every time I say to him "I won't do it again....blah blah blah" a few days or weeks later I'm back to square one. Online slots is what I can't stop playing. It started maybe 2 years ago, had a few big wins £1000's at times, but would put most Back on, i Just keep chasing and chasing, it's stupid I don't even know why I do it. I my really needs to stop, I can't carry on like this. It's not fair on my family, I could lose everything.
Today is the day it all changes. For good. Advice would be much appreciated, I've seen you can block sites on your phone etc?
Welcome Elizabeth
Sounds like you've come to the realisation that you're in over your head. I think most will relate to saying we're quitting one week only to go back again team next. That's why it's a difficult addiction to just stop. But with some hard work and a will to change it can be done. You're right you can block gambling site's on your devices. To name a few there's bet filter,k9,gamban. You may also benefit from ordering a new card and having the cvv code removed by your husband so you can't sign up to any other site's. There's a wealth of information buried with in the site and plenty of diaries you'll more than relate to. Hope that helps and welcome

Hi Elizabeth365
Welcome to the forum you have come to the right place if you WANT stop gambling and have made one of the hardest steps in posting on here and admitting gambling has you beat !! Like Dean0 said there's lots of stories on here and some diaries are a very interesting read and you will definitely relate to a lot of stuff. I will be honest with you it's very hard in the early days and I would say to you let as many people as possible know your situation and don't be afraid to tell people of your addiction to gambling. Let your husband control your finances as this might make things easier and yes there are plenty of blocking software programs you can use. Believe me you will lose everything if you carry on gambling as this is what's happened to me my wife has had enough of it all this time she tells me and let me tell you there is not a worse feeling in the world !! Hope you get sorted and your gamble free life starts from today !!

Hi Elizabeth, I'm new here as of today.... how weird to read what you have written as it has saved me a job, ditto.... keep gambling on the slots and think if i can only cash out i would be a winner but I just carry on till there is nothing left.... nothing changes and my life is going down the pan!
Thanks for the replies guys! I hadn't thought about getting new bank cards, that's a really good idea. Definitely going to do that. I'm still feeling positive, I think it's because I've asked for the help, my husband is an absolute diamond, he hasn't once threatened to leave or shout and scream! He's just upset with it all which I think makes it worse, I don't want to hurt him, I love him all the world. Nothing worse than seeing the person you love down and upset because of something you have done. : ( I have a lot of making up to do. Which I plan on doing. I've even asked him to just give me cash instead of me having a card but he said that's like abuse! So for now him having access to my online banking is keeping me in check. Its the first time in a LONG time money is still in my account, Just short of £500 left before I'm paid on the 31st, bills have been paid, lots of food in. I'm not going to try and doubt it even thought the devil on my shoulder wants me to! He can P**s off. I'll save it thanks!
Thanks again everyone xx
