Hey well I don’t know what to say apart from the 2 weeks gamble free that I was I just blew it out of the water I am so angry with myself literally I got a overdraft of £3500 and have practically blew it all in 2 days waiting for that one big win ... I came clean to my husband today and practically begged him to take my cards off me but he says what’s the point cause I know the numbers etc ... this is true but I really dont want to gamble again I nearly lost everything today but what hurts the most is the trust financially that my husband has lost in me I feel angry and let my my stupid “fix” win . So anyway today I told my brothers and sisters what I had been doing so now everyone knows I’m a deceiver hopefully the stigma attached to that might keep me strong enough to not want to gamble again. This time though I will be starting a recovery diary tonight. Honestly hoping I can beat this m**o now .
Hello Lost sheep,
Well done for acknowledging the 'Slip-up'. The purpose of opening up about a lapse is not to punish yourself or to feel shamed, rather it is to create more support for your recovery and to help you to reflect on what happened, in case you can transform it into a learning experience that you can use to improve your relapse-prevention methods or to deepen your insight and self-awareness. It looks like the silver lining of this lapse it that you are now planning to start a recovery diary.

Hi Lost sheep.
Can you use a blocker assuming you gamble on line? That way there would be a second line of defence against slip ups.
Good luck and you are in the right place for really good support .
Sammy
Ring up your bank and report the cards lost - when the replacement cards arrive give them straight to your husband and get him to scratch off the 3 digit code on the back. Good luck.
